I stepped into the quiet hallway.

Looking to the left and right, I went further into the depths of it. I was barefoot and the nails on the floor made my feet twist and itch about.

It was when I saw the pale room that I had received some sort of small hope inside of me.

I opened it with force, as my once jubilant face became petrified.

In the pits and corners of the black room were Laura's. Like bugs, all looked at the door.

And ran towards me.

With their mouths open and their faces turning a dark red, they came.

I ran. They were everywhere.

Right then, as I turned to escape, one held a knife. Prepared to aim at my-

"No!" I looked around. Dawn was arising and no Laura's were to be found.

Ashton shot up and turned to me. A look of horror plastered on my face.

"Hey, hey, listen." Ashton cupped my face. "It's okay, I'm right here."

He extended his arms and I fell into them, sobbing out all my pains and fears.

This whole thing, has been a lot to handle. Knowing that if Laura got mad she could kill me, was a lot to handle.

Ashton hummed a pretty tune and laid my head on his chest.

"I don't like this, Ashton." I trembled. Fear was consuming every part I had given to Ashton.

"I know. I'll always be here to protect you, Scar. I'm in love with you." He paused. For Ashton, finding the right words to say to me came easy.

"A wise person once said, love is deep and robust. Fear won't do any harm to one inside the depths of love." He softly twisted strands of my dirty blonde hair. "You know who said that?"

"Me." I smiled in recognition.

"Now sleep." He got down to my level, staring into my now calmed eyes. "I'm right here."

His words looped through my mind. It was the reassurance and confidence in his voice that held so much influence of my cluttered brain.

But soon, sleep was upon me.

The curtains held the sunlight and sustained it until Scar and I were ready to face the brightness.

Last night was rough for Scar, and I was anxious to know what her dream was about.

I knew for a fact that it couldn't have been about her mom.

But, I had a suggestion it would be about Laura and her ways.
