Scarlett
I couldn't move, at least I felt like I couldn't.
All the blood drained out of my face and I felt a bit hazy.
I'm not exaggerating, I mean what would you do if your gorgeous best friend liked the love of your life?
Also, your on your period so...
Great, a cherry on a sundae.
"H-how long...?" I was motionless but all I could ask was that question.
"I don't know." She started smiling like a psychopath. Nevermind, crazy thought. She's perfectly normal...
"I guess I just felt it. From the moment he cooked the spaghetti for you and we started joking around." Ame shook her head and chuckled at the thought.
I swallowed hard as I continued. "From then on, I figured out how much I just... Really love him-"
"You don't love him." I instantly called back, keeping my eyes focused on the floor beneath my feet.
She walked closer, "No arrogance here but, how would you know?"
I felt empty and quiet for a moment.
If I don't have Ashton, what do I have? I'll just go back to being that boring, sad girl in the corner who nobody really knows how to fulfill her elation...
"I...I have him. You can't take him." I put my hands to my chest.
I'm usually pretty tough but, when it comes to Ashton, I melt.
"Oh God, Scarlett." Amelia sighed. "Get over yourself! Once I show him all I have he'll easily want me in a blink of an eye."
It was like a flash of words and drowsiness.
"I'll just go find him right now. Don't come looking for him, by the way. The second you walk out this door." She looked me straight in the eye and whispered.
"It'll be too late." She walked out the door and didn't look back.
Most importantly, I couldn't look away.

Ashton
"Why didn't you argue back? Couldn't there have been a place closer for me to stay in?" I reasoned.
"Not a lot of people want to take in another child around here."
I ran my tense fingers through my hair. "What about school? College? The love of my life?!" I started to panic and Kevin was pacing around the room.
"Ashton would you please just calm down-"
"It's kind of hard to calm down when your in the middle of finding out your going to loose everything you've ever wanted!" I yelled.
A few more frustrated hair running before I banged the coffee table realizing one thing...
I might never see my girl again..
"I'm going to Scarlett."

All I remember is walking into her house and hearing crashes coming from her room.
I walked up the steps quietly, intrigued and confused by the loud 'banging' sounds.
"Scarlett?" I walked in her room and found her bed slightly tilted, pillows thrown around and jewelry that I gave her scattered around. She was in a corner, looking at her favorite necklace I gave her.
It was a locket, with a picture of Scarlett and I having our first picnic at The Intersect.
"So you're here." Tears were coming down from her eyes and the second she saw me, they rained down harder.
"What are you waiting for? Just spill it out already!" She yelled making me jump a bit.
I tried touching her cheek but she slapped off my hand.
"Don't touch me! Not after you've touched her!"
My level of confusion was as high as my height, right now. And Scarlett and I are pretty tall.
"Baby...what's going on?" I tried to reach for her hand. She began to sink in but, then noticed what she was doing.
"Didn't Amelia tell you? Didn't she put her hands all over you like she said she was gonna?" She sounded so hurt and so broken...but I couldn't figure out why.
"Tell me what? And why would she put her hands over me?" I gave a look of disgust and confusion.
The only hands I want 'all over me' are Scarlett's.
"She's in love with you! She has been! She...she said she was going to take you away from me. She said that with her- her gorgeous features you would fall for her in-" She broke down crying.
I couldn't bare to see her like this. Really.
I swooped down and took her in my arms. I gently settled her onto the bed and then I climbed on top of her so our eyes would meet.
I kissed her soft, slightly chapped lips and whispered. "I love you. I would and will never leave you for someone else. I want and need you, Scarlett Celeste."
Her eyes brightened up and she started snuffling. "Really?" She whispered, looking at the cloudy skies just above her window.
"Baby, it's me." I said chuckling and I touched her cheek to which she closed her eyes and sank into.
"But there is something important I have to tell you."

Scarlett
Ashton was here. And that was all that mattered.
He wouldn't leave me. He said it himself.
"Scarlett, Kevin has to leave for Medical School."
"Is that why he was acting so weird?" Ashton was sitting across from me, we played with each other's fingers.
"Well, there's more." He let out a deep sigh and I looked into his eyes, prepared for anything.
"He can't take custody of me anymore. The government set up a new home for me. A nice family wants to take me in. In Canada."
Sadness and determination mixed in my soul all at once. Creating something beautiful.
Perseverance.
"Why are you smiling like that? You do realize we won't see each other, right?" Ashton spoke clearly and slowly.
I didn't notice I was smiling but, nevertheless, I smiled brighter.
"Be prepared Ashton, when I get an idea, no one stops me."
"Ooh, your hot when your determined." I gave him a messy-laughing kiss and I ran downstairs to get my phone.
I had a call to make.
