T.K.O flinched lightly at the sound of the door creaking, putting down his controller and looking over his shoulder just in time to see K.O slump in, a dead look on his face. T.K.O smiled inwardly.
"Hey sunshine." He teased, K.O's eyes dragging up to meet his sly grin.
"Hey T.K.O. Can we chat?" K.O asked with a frown. T.K.O would've groaned but he was hoping to suck up enough to get K.O to let him out for the day. So, he patted the bean bag next to him and watched K.O sink into it.
"So what's up?" T.K.O asked.
"Well it's just that I've written (y/n) 5 letters and she hasn't written back yet. I can't even find her in any recent photos of the place." K.O sighed, his eye lids weighing down half way giving him a half asleep look. T.K.O cracked a smile with the thought of his plan and where (y/n) was before putting on his best empathetic face.
"Oh cheer up chump. I'm suuuure (y/n) doesn't hate you that much." He shrugged, throwing an arm around K.O's shoulder.
"Hate?" K.O echoed.
"Oh yes. I mean if she really cared about you she would've written back or at least texted by now." He grinned lightly, giving K.O a slight nudge with his fist. K.O felt a pit growing in his stomach.
There was a brief, bitter silence following the conversation. Hunched up, K.O's eyes traced the floor, deep in thought before he huffed, crossing his arms as his eyes got cloudy. T.K.O was prepping to beg K.O to let him out (as always) before K.O lifted his head.
"T.K.O...do you think you could leave me alone here for a little bit. Maybe just go out for the day and come back later?" K.O sniffled, his voice cracking as he got a little choked up. T.K.O smiled widely.
"Of course. You take your time here to just relax and take your mind off things. I'll be back soon." He chirped, patting K.O on the back before shuffling out the room and waking up in bed.
T.K.O ran his hands through his hair- thankfully he'd taken precautions and had kept his secret so under wraps that the goofy counterpart he shared his body with didn't even find out (which he patted himself on the back for). He even got rid on the tv in the kitchen so it couldn't reveal anything he saw. Stretching, he heard his mother call from downstairs making his eyes roll.
"K.O sweetie it's time for breakfast!"
His stomach twisted at the mention of his name. He wanted more than anything to just have his own body instead of being some outcast in some nerds body. But still, he sighed and crowed back that he'd be down soon. After getting dressed, he rolled his eyes at Carol's grimace of seeing him and quietly ate breakfast- much to Carol's surprise.
"So uh...kiddo?" She said, unsure how gently to tread around T.K.O at his unusual silence. "Still bummed out about (y/n)?"
T.K.O scoffed a little before nodding in "agreement". Carol looked around uneasily, unsure of what approach to take now.
"You need a ride to work hone- I mean T.K.O." Carol not her lip sheepishly. She didn't want to have to repair another wall by calling him some "stupid" baby name. Though unbeknownst to her, he could care less. All he was focused on was going to see (y/n).
"Sure mom." He growled. He wasn't fond of calling her mom but felt it would stop her acting so stupid which it happened to do as she instantly perked up and smiled softly.
"Great. Gar is at work and he said he'll meet you there." She said, picking up his now empty plate and setting them in the sink. "Alright let's go." She beamed.
