It was dusk.
He hadn't stopped running and you had been thrashing around, trying to get him to take a break for the sake of his legs. You could only imagine how he was still standing, let alone running.
Although he suddenly skidded to a stop, breathing heavily. You were both by a pond, the serenity of the place would've calmed you if it wasn't for the panic of what had been the last 4 hours of getting lost and ducking through trees. Still, the sunset peeked through the gaps of the trees and scattered onto the grass like dashed beads giving some comfort to you.
"What...What the heck T.K.O!" You hissed. He looked at you coldly. "Do you have any idea what effects this could have on K.O's body?!"
"His body?!" He growled through his teeth. You stopped.
"You know what I mean." You mumbled.
"Oh I do." He scowled. "That's all you care about! K.O!"
"You know that's not what I meant! But that doesn't matter- what does is why you ran both of us so deep into the forest!" You barked. He crossed his arms. You almost hadn't realised that he hadn't changed forms yet. Although you guessed your thought was some sort of cue as there were now giant flecks of purple licking up his arms and whipping off him.
He growled before changing, almost setting the forest on fire with the force of the blast but luckily all it did was knock you over and scare some birds.
"WHAT ABOUT HOW YOU TOLD K.O YOU WERE LEAVING BEFORE ME, HUH (Y/N)?!" He screamed storming over to you and grabbing you by the collar, the spikes on his wristband gently poking your neck. You scowled, grabbing his wrist and throwing it away from you.
"Jealous much? You act like I was never going to tell you!" You muttered angrily, crossing your arms.
"Well you didn't have to tell that baby first!" He whined.
"Well, now we can chat about it, can't we?" You sighed, crossing your arms and sitting down on the soft grass. He didn't budge.
"I..." He looked at the spot next to you before gently setting himself down.
"So...why did you run me out all this way?" You ask. He wouldn't look at you.
"Because I wanted to...t-talk." He said quietly, almost in a whisper.
"Are you mad at me...for leaving?" You gently put your hand on his to find he felt tense.
"...Y...No." He smiled. But this smile wasn't happy.
"Are you...are you sure?" You questioned, unnerved by the sudden mood change. He clasped his hand in yours.
"Of course! Especially when you're not leaving!" He beamed a toothy smile. You frowned.
"I don't think you understand T.K.O..." You said softly. But he hugged you gently.
"Oh I do...and you're not leaving." He claimed then shifting on top of you forcing you into a laying position as he pinned your arms down and lent into your face. "You're not leaving even if I have to make you stay."
"That's it." You growled, shoving him off with effort. "My bus leaves in an hour and if you won't say goodbye to me properly, then I'm sure K.O will. Let him out."
He stood up too, not responding.
"T.K.O. Let him out now."
"..."
Without warning he lunged at you, flickers of energy seeping from his hands as he grabbed you.
"You know (y/n)...I didn't want it to come to this." He grinned crookedly as his grip tightened. Fear rushed through you at his expression as he started to laugh to himself. "I guess your old man was doing some good keeping you locked up, huh?!"
"What's that supposed to mean?!" You sweated.
"Don't worry. I'll visit you and bring you gifts and it can be our little secret! Besides, everyone will just think you're having a great time a P.O.I.N.T, right?" He chuckled, running a hand through your hair.
"DONT TOUCH ME!" You barked slapping away his hand and dashing away from the beautiful, isolated spot. It would be dark soon. But all you had to do was get to the bus stop and it would be fine!
"YOU CAN RUN (Y/N), BUT I CAN RUN FASTER!" He roared with a laugh. Worry consumed you as you heard twigs snap behind you rapidly. In panic, you charged up a boost and sprung up high. You heard him skid past you and look up. "WHAT? YOU THINK I CAN'T GET UP THERE TOO?!"
He jumped up and punched the ground, propelling himself towards you. You squealed as he roughly grabbed you by the arm and pulled you into his chest. Pulling up your leg you charged up again and kicked him off before landing in a tree, grabbing onto a branch just as you almost fell. You heard a crunch of sticks near by, quickly sliding down the tree and started running towards the bodega. Even if you couldn't get the bus, you could get away from this psycho. You ducked under branches and slid under roots, all the while being screamed at to give up the chase. Now, you were behind the bodega, catching a glimpse of turquoise.
"R-Rad! Help!" You wheezed. He whipped around and quickly put his arm around you.
"Whoah! What's wrong?" He asked. All you could manage was to wheeze "T.K.O." Before you felt a presence behind both of you.
Rad was sent through the wall, instantly calling for Enid as he slid across the tiles.
But by then you were long gone. T.K.O scooped you up and bolted for Boxman factory, laughing as he ran.
"T.K.O don't!" You cried, your arms curled around his neck as he swiftly ducked inside.
You both passed a Shanon. "Little sis? Wha- HEY! YOU LITTLE BRAT GET AWAY FROM HER!" She hissed, bolting after you two. T.K.O sighed angrily before running up a wall and boosting to a second floor.
"T.K.O please..." You whispered into his shoulder.
But it was too late.
"Boxman." He called out, setting you down in front of his desk. You froze in place.
"Wha- K.O?" He turned in his chair before frowning. "And my disobedient little girl- mY DISOBEDIENT LITTLE GIRL!" He scooped you up in his arms as you squirmed. Putting you down he eyed T.K.O.
"What do you want." He said, scowling at him.
"Oh nothing much." He grinned devilishly to himself. "All I need is a little favour; I just want you to keep (y/n) locked away for me." You frowned, looking away from both of them.
"Wha- but you always bust her out!" He whined, crossing his arms.
"Well as long as you let me see her and not that little K.O weirdo, I'll make sure to keep it our little secret that she's here instead of at P.O.I.N.T." He put emphasis on the last part making you wince, already prepared for your dad's reaction.
"P.O.I.N.T?! P.O.I.N.T?! HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?!" He shouted grabbing you and throwing you over his shoulder. "WE NEED TO GET YOU GROUNDED IMMEDIATELY! YOU BOY, THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND COME BACK WHENEVER!" He shouted quickly as he ran down the hall to find a room or as you would call it, a cell.
You bittersweetly took one last look at the bus stopping outside and dug your face into your dad's shoulder.
"Don't worry sweetie, you're home now."
