Waking up the next day seemed way harder than it usually was.
You couldn't move very well and you felt sore from all of the running and dodging that you had to do yesterday. Still, you dragged yourself out of bed and went down stairs where you could barely make it past the tv before collapsing onto the sofa. Your eyes rolled over to the clock and you gasped. It was 10:45am. This was beyond late for school! Dashing out of the front room, you stumbled out into the garden, sunlight making you hiss away and rub your eyes. Once you had adjusted, you caught sight of your mom, relaxing in a chair.
"Mom! Why didn't you wake me up?!" You asked, squinting at her while she stared out at the grass.
"We got a phone call. The school is closed for the rest of the week so they can repair classrooms. Your (brother/sister) went out with friends and you were impossible to wake up so I let you be." She explained with a smile.
"Right...T.K.O." You muttered. You made your way back inside. At least your muscles didn't hurt as much as before.
The whole week...free to do whatever.
Your mind drifted to yesterday. You couldn't believe that K.O had a dark alter ego. To think you trusted T.K.O and he almost killed you. He was a little like this kid you used to know back in your old school. He used to kick and hiss at the teachers and used to punch people for no reason. One time he even tried to throw a chair at you just for laughs. Even after you left you heard he'd set the place ablaze and ran. You're glad you left that school. As you sunk deeper into thought, you didn't hear the doorbell the first time it rang - your mom having to call out to you to get it being the thing that brought you back to reality. As you approached the door - to probably be greeted by (brother/sister) - you thought about going to see if K.O was okay. You opened the door only to be met with a surprise.
Speak of the devil, K.O and his mom stood at the door baring smiles. K.O held a teddy bear with a bow and tag on it while his mom held a basket under her arm. K.O was completely back to normal to your relief.
"Hey (Y/n). Is your mom home?" She asked, teetering at the door as K.O rocked on his heels. You nodded leading them to the garden.
"Carol! Good to see you again!" You mom exclaimed, sitting up in her chair and smiling. K.O's mom - or Carol as you now know her - took a seat next to her leaving you and K.O sitting on a step by the edge of the grass.
"Nice bear." You smiled, pointing to the bear held in his arms. He looked down at it and gasped.
"You like it?" He asked with a smile. You nodded and he smiled wider. "Great because it's yours!"
"What?" You were taken back as he gently held out the bear to you.
"I brought it as an apology for yesterday. I didn't mean to loose control." He explained, glancing at the floor. You gently took the bear and stared at it.
"Thanks K.O. He was no trouble at all." You assured him. He smiled at your comment.
"Kids get over here. I brought lunch." Carol called out, setting down plates. You and K.O rushed over and sat next to each other, chatting and laughing while both of your moms chatted quietly.
After lunch, you and K.O played for awhile inside and outside. Eventually, everyone sat down to relax and K.O started to watch cartoons with you on the Tv. Though, it wasn't long until his dark alter ego got bored.
"Hey looser me. Hanging out with your girlfriend again?" T.K.O's voice echoed. K.O rolled his eyes to himself.
"We both know she's not my girlfriend." He thought, his cheeks burning up a little.
"Whatever. You obviously have the hots for her." T.K.O teased.
"Hots? No no no. Me and (Y/n) are friends." K.O thought to himself.
"Yeah sure. Because "friends" randomly buy teddy bears for each other." T.K.O chuckled. K.O glanced over at you who was clutching the bear in your arms while you watched Tv.
"H-Hey! That was only because you almost killed her!" K.O retaliated silently.
"Because I almost killed her? You mean because you lost your cool in class because you felt bad for not helping and released me!" T.K.O argued.
"Hey! Don't pin that on me! It's not like I was chasing after her and trying to hurt her!"
K.O continued with his mental battle as you watched Tv, the bear tucked neatly between your hip and arm as your fingers traced the edges of the bow. You looked up at K.O and the two of you made brief eye contact. He quickly adverted his eyes while you got back to watching Tv. Before you knew it, the sky was a deep blue and Carol started to lightly suggest leaving. As soon as the streetlights came on, she insisted they go.
"But mom! Can't we stay at least 5 more minuets?" K.O pouted. Carol thought for a moment before sighing.
"I guess we can spare 5 minuets. Make the most of it." She shrugged as you two started playing tag. 5 minuets slipped by quicker than you anticipated. When Carol reminded him about his promise, K.O was sad and went to say goodbye. Though, Carol saw how sad he looked, whispering something to your mom as she nodded.
"I guess I have to go no-"
"Wait just a second K.O." Carol smiled. K.O looked a little confused as he looked at his mom. You and Carol locked eyes.
"You and K.O where having a lot of fun so your mom gave the ok for a sleepover as long as your fine with it, you can get some stuff and come over." Carol smiled. K.O looked around to you, eyes lit up and a huge smile on his face.
"Of course! As long as everyone is fine with it, I'd be happy to come over." You beamed, K.O sharing a similar wide smile. He cheered and you ran up stairs to gather your stuff.
