**flashback**

“Aww come on Dad. Just let me have a little fun for once! You don’t know if it’s your last day or not so let me live! Let me have fun for once.” I reason drunkenly. Suffice to say, the beginning wasn’t going well.

He shakes his head no and my mom sighs impatient. They don’t even look at me at this moment.  “Darling, I’m sorry but something bad could have happened to my little girl.”

I groan and sit back in my seat. “I’m not your little girl. Not anymore.”

Dad looks back for a second. “You will always be my little girl.”

I sigh and look out the window. It is snowing out and it is very icy out and I’m surprised they even came out to get me. I wasn’t that drunk and it was MY party too! You are supposed to have fun at your own birthday party.

I get bored of looking out the side of the frosted over window and look forward again. There, out in the middle of the road is a the biggest deer you could of ever saw. It looked forward and paused not sure what to do. I do what the first thing comes to mind and I scream the loudest I could muster. “Oh my god! Look out!”

Dad swore when he finally saw the dear. He swerved the best he could but the ice didn’t help. In fact, it swung us around to the side then off the road completely. I felt the impact of it coming from the right, which was on Moms side.  I hit the window hard when the car lurched my way for a minute and go black for a couple painful seconds.

Longest seconds of my life.

Then I realized what fully happened. We were in a car crash.

An actual car crash.

I groan and look over and see my parents are completely silent. Panic fills my body completely. Whimpering as I unbuckle but trying to forget any pain, I lean over the middle and look at both of my parents.

“Mom?!? Dad?!!! Answer me!!” I scream and burst into tears.

I look to mom and she is silent and slumped forward. Her beautiful face, now full of cuts and blood, didn’t look like she was breathing. I scream for her to wake up but it doesn’t do much good. She doesn’t do anything.

I then look to dad crying and lean onto his body for reassurance. Lightheadness took control of my body. Blood dripped from his body, but it wasn’t his.

It was mine.

I gasp and feel my head. There’s a huge gap in my head that I didn’t even want to see and I let go and stifle a scream. I see a movement from Dad then a huge breath was taken from him. More tears came in response.

“Dad?”

“Sweetheart? I’m sorry for that.” Tears fill his eyes and he clutches his side. Metal was shoved into it, twisting his body uncomfortably. Flesh was ripped beyond my belief while blood poured out of it.

I shake my head with tears in my eyes. “No I’m sorry I made you come get me. Don’t leave me here alone.”

I grab his hand that was holding his body and squeeze tightly. He covers my own bloody hand with his own and pats it smiling. More tears well up in my eyes because I know what’s going to happen. That injury doesn’t look irreversible.

He doesn’t move after that. I look up and through my tears to find him not breathing.  His eyes closed, yet, still holding onto my hands.
