Emily's POV
It has been two whole weeks since Kenji and I saved Hunter and brought him to the guild for medical treatment. It's also been two whole weeks since Kenji surprised me and Shoken with Iris. She's been staying at the guild a lot and going with the girls to Fairy Tail's dorms because Kenji, Shoken and I have been going on a lot of jobs this week. Hunter is also doing a lot better than when we first brought him to Fairy Tail. He even got his guild insignia. It's on his forehead in blue.

We are just getting off the train back in Magnolia and Kenji is having to carry my weakened body. "Ugh, why did we have to take a train there and back?" I groan out against his chest. "The request had said as soon as possible, Emiko. We had to take the train because it's the fastest mode of transportation." Kenji replied calmly. "Then why did we have to take the train back home?" I asked as he stepped off the train, Shoken was resting on his head giggling about something. "Emiko, do you even remember getting badly injured in that battle? We had to take the train back to safely and quickly get you to Wendy." He said. I sigh softly at this.

This last job had to do with a demon that was attacking a small village. They had been having small attacks and wanted it taken care of. But when we got there, we saw that the the demon was attacking the entire village. Several buildings had already been destroyed and there are bodies everywhere. Shoken and I worked on getting what was left of the villagers to safety and searched the destroyed buildings for any wounded but living people. The things I saw in those buildings were out of a nightmare. Kenji was fighting the demon. It looked like some kind of three headed dog-like demon and each head was wielding a different element. There was lightning, fire and poison. Unfortunately the thing realized that fire would do no good against Kenji so it used lightning and poison against him. With me being the Water Dragon Slayer, I was able to use water to keep the poison away from Kenji.

I hadn't realized what was happening and there was too much going on for Kenji to notice the head that wielded lightning was turning toward me until it was opening its mouth. It blasted lightning at me and Shoken was too late in getting me out of it's range. The lightning caught both of my legs and blasts of sparks burnt large patches of skin on my back. Both of Shokens wings were badly damaged along with her tail and the bottoms of her paws. The pack of medical supplies she carries on her back was all but vaporized by the lightning blast. Once the demon was defeated; I'm still confused by how, the villages only surviving nurse patched Shoken and I up just enough that Kenji could carry me and get me back to Fairy Tail, the nurse had placed Shoken on his head since she can't walk right now.

"How can I forget? It hurts so bad no matter what we do. Plus, Shoken was also injured when she tried to save me." I said sadly. Kenji looked down at me sadly. "Hey, she didn't just try to save you. She did save you. Yes, the more preferred outcome would have been that she got to you before the lightning touched either of you. But, if she hadn't gotten to you when she did, you may not be here with us now. That's what matters right now." He said softly to me. I smiled softly at him and tried to snuggle close, only to cause the bandages to rub against the burns on my back. I gasp out sharply as my body stiffened against the pain. I feel Kenji pick up his pace. "Kenji!" We hear a voice call from behind us. I feel Kenji turn his body to see who called his name. Upon turning, we see a blue excess flying toward us while carrying Natsu.

Natsu dropped down in front of us when they got close enough. I heard him beginning to sniff the air a little before he looked to me then Shoken. "We'll rush to the guild and tell Wendy. Do you want me to take Shoken so you can focus on not causing Emiko pain?" He asked. "Yes, that'd be a great help." Kenji says to him. As Natsu starts to reach for her, I speak up. "Please be careful with her. She's injured as well." I say softly. He nodded to me before carefully taking Shoken. "Happy, would you be able to carry her on your back? Maybe cradle her with your wings and still fly fast?" He asked his exceed. "Aye, sir. It'll be easy." Happy replied as he summoned his wings and flew around to Natsu's front. Natsu placed Shoken on Happy's back then Happy grabbed hold of Natsu. They took off after that and Kenji began walking again.

We got to the guild after a while and the doors were opened. "Bring her into the infirmary." I heard Wendy-chan's voice call out. Kenji carried me through the guild and I heard a few soft voices. When we got to the infirmary, Kenji laid me down beside Hunter. The little exceed was awake and was looking up at me with worry. As Wendy-chan began working her magic, he crawled over to me. A couple minutes later, I felt something jump into the bed and heard a jingling sound. I looked over and saw Iris staring at me. She mewed softly before rubbing her side against my cheek, purring. I brought my hand to her and began petting her weakly. "I'm okay, Iris. I'll be good as new after I'm healed." I said softly to her. "How's Shoken?" Kenji-kun asked. "She's stable and sleeping. After healing her as much as I can with running my magic too low to help Emiko, I bandaged what I couldn't get to right now and gave her something for the pain and to sleep. She needs rest." Wendy-chan replied. "Thank you, Wendy-chan." I said to her, smiling softly. "For now, you just focus on yourself. Let Kenji-san worry about the exceeds and cat for now." She told me. I nodded and closed my eyes. I didn't realize Kenji-kun was holding my hand when it went limp for me falling asleep.
