"It hurts when you have someone in your heart, but you can't have them in your arms."

My eyes were still squeezed shut but I didn't need to open them to know who had I had crashed into. Again.

I could feel his fingers on my waist through the thin fabric of my shirt. The proximity making my heart beat faster. No. Not because I was affected by him. But because I had little to no interaction with the male population in the 17 years of my life.

I opened my eyes and looked into his amused green ones and quickly stepped away from him, immediately the wood and orange scent of him thinned around me. His arms came back to his sides and he stuck them into his pockets. The gesture making his biceps flex.

I looked back to his face and was relived to see that he hadn't caught my wandering eyes.

I cleared my throat, heat rushing to my cheeks as the embarrassment of the situation dawned on me. My brain at a loss of words.

Three times, Camilla, three times. With my luck I had crashed into this man three times.

"I.... am..... um... Sorry... Sorry for bumping into you...," and then my rambling began, "See, it wasn't because I did it intentionally, of course it wasn't my intention, I got pushed by the crowd, and I didn't realize you were in front of me. I know, Adrian, that I have crashed into you three times," I said grimacing, "but none of those were my intention, I think I am a..... a bit... clumsy," I finished biting my lip.

His eyes showed something but then they were expressionless.

"You think?" he asked amused, "And Cupcake, if you don't stop crashing into me all the time, and then explaining so much," he shook his head,"then I might think that you do it intentionally."

"Can your ego get any bigger?" I asked in a mocking tone and rolled my eyes and started heading towards a locker, not bothering to hear his reply. I was internally screaming.

Woah! I made a big ass comment!

As I opened my locker, and took the books for the period, I felt a presence behind me. I chose to ignore it. I shut my locker and turned around only to become startled as I saw two golden-green eyes staring into mine. I looked at the person, invading my personal space with a raised eyebrow and pushed up my glasses to the bridge of my nose.

"Do you mind?" I gestured with my finger, telling him to step away.

He did and said,"Wouldn't you thank me for catching you and saving you from being stampeded upon not to mention the humiliation you would have felt after tripping in a hallway full of students?" he asked with a hand to his heart in mock hurt.

"Well, ok, thanks Adrian," I shrugged,"and if you keep coming back to me it will lead me to believe that you are the one who bumps into me intentionally," I said with a sickly sweet smile, repeating his words.

There were not much people in the hallway, leading me to believe that the warning bell would be ringing in no time.

I looked over at Adrian and saw him looking at me with a gaze that seemed to say that he was trying to figure me out, as if I was a puzzle he couldn't solve.

I cleared my throat, "Uhh, if you don't mind I have a class to get to," I said awkwardly, feeling intimidated because of his gaze.

He just nodded,"See you, Cupcake," he said his intense gaze vanishing as it was never there.

I rushed towards my Lit class not seeing where he headed and pushed open the door just as the warning bell rang.

As I entered the class, all eyes turned to me, I squirmed under the attention, and looked around the class awkwardly, then I saw the bright and fierce face of Joe and I relaxed a little, giving her a bright smile. She returned the smile instantly and raised her eyebrows, silently asking me why I was a little late.
