"Don't you want to be alive before you die?"

"Wh-why do you want to take me somewhere?" I was more confused now.
"Get in or the offer is off the table,"he grumbled.
I took one glance at his car and I knew my answer.
We got in the car. Me marvelling at its interior and Adrian rolling his eyes playfully. I couldn't help it. It was so much better than the Mercedes-Benz my brother had or the BMW I had or the cars my parents had.
Nothing compares to Lamborghini. Nothing.
It was only when we hit the road when it clicked in my mind,"Oh My God, are we bunking school?" I asked in a panicked voice.
"No silly, we are just going out during school hours without informing the school," he said sarcastically.
"OMG we are bunking school. I can't believe it. I am bunking school? What would happen? What if the teachers notice? Will they suspend me? Oh no! Will they expel me?" I was panicking, no doubt.
"Oh dear! Cupcake, calm down, nothing will happen, I am not bunking school with you for the whole day. We will reach back by the second half and I want to show you something. Besides, I have bunked so many times but I haven't got in trouble till now," he said trying to assure me.
I relaxed a little but still, "But I haven't ever bunked before," I said raising my hand in front of me and then dropping them exaggeratedly.
"Exactly, that's the point!"
"But why?"
That made him think and after a few seconds he said,"Because you, my friend, need to learn to live," he looked at me with a smirk, seemingly happy with his response.
I was going to ask him why did he care but suddenly it hit me that he called me a 'friend'.
"I am your friend?" I asked, confusion written all over my face.
He sighed,"You are bunking with me so now you are my friend."
"Oh?"
"Yes," he said firmly.
"Ok, then," I mumbled, unsure.
We were driving for quite a while now in silence. I really like to be with my thoughts. I was looking out the window, staring at the cars passing by and thinking how other people have their own separate lives. Stray hair from my messy pony tail were cascading my face and I really didn't feel a need to push them back.
I felt eyes on me, so I looked at my side, only to see Adrian tightly clutching the steering wheel, his knuckles white and his cheeks a little red.
Huh? What happened to him? Oh and is he blushing?!
Before I could ask him, the car halted and Adrian put off the ignition. He and I opened our doors simultaneously and stepped out of the car. I hadn't really paid attention to where we were headed and he was quite adamant on not telling me.
He was beside me now and I looked in front of me to see that we were at the gates of The Empire State Building.
I turned to him," Why have you brought me here?" I asked frowning.
His eyes twinkled, like he knew I was going to ask that and he just said,"Lets enter."
"Don't we require a ticket or something?" I asked.
"Yes, but I know a person," he said,"now, come on."
He grabbed by my arm and literally dragged me inside the gates, my skin tingling where his fingers touched my skin.
