Yeah, The Storm's Here

As soon as Sasuke saw me approaching, he took off into the forest. A million questions rushed into my head.

Why was he here? What did he want? He wasn't foolish enough to attack Konoha by himself, I alone could defeat him. But he was still in the forest by himself, why?
I had to find out.
But apparently, Sasuke has other ideas.

I finally decided to teleport.
I did the handsigns as fast as I could and poofed in front of him. Startled, he stopped and took a step back. Looks like he had forgotten that I love teleportation.

'Sasuke.' I tapped my foot impatiently. 'Why are you here?'
He gave his signature smirk.

'Just checking.'

'What?'

'To see if you were alive.'

Before I could stop him, he did the standard handsigns and vanished.

Great.

I hadn't even turned on my Sharingan to see where he could've been.

I sighed and headed back to Konoha.

'HANA!!!'

I jumped.

'WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?'

Naruto stormed towards me, smoke coming out of his ears.

Seriously.

'Uh...'

I couldn't possibly tell him that Sasuke was here, so I chose to lie instead. Mind you, I wasn't happy about it.

'I needed a walk to clear my head, I was just coming back now.'

He seemed to accept my reason. Thank god.

'Okay. But we need to talk.'

I turned rigid, then relaxed. Remember Hana, you were supposed to expect stuff like this.

I smiled and nodded, not wanting to show my discomfort.

Naruto started walking towards god-knows-where, and I followed reluctantly.

After a lot of jumping through trees, we reached our destination when it was almost evening.

I had started hearing a weird sound growing louder by the minute while we journeyed there, but I couldn't pinpoint  what it was until I saw it.

I was standing on the cliff overlooking the Final Valley.

I am in such Big trouble.

'So,' Naruto said casually. 'Why did you leave?'

I gaped like a fish, still not processing where I was.

The sound was rushing water of the huge waterfall.

'Hana?'

The second-last time Naruto and Sasuke had fought, it was here.

'Are you okay?'

Naruto. Shikamaru. Neji. Choji. Kiba. Shino. 

All of them had risked their lives to get Sasuke back.

Yet he had run away.

This was where he and Naruto had their worst battle.

A battle between two best friends.

'HANA!!!'

'Sorry, what?'

'I've been calling you for the past two minutes, you just spaced out.'

'Oh, sorry,' My voice held no tone of apology.

'What were you thinking about?'

I hesitated before answering. Did I really want him to know? 

Well... Yes I do.

'I was thinking about Sasuke, the time after the chunin exams when Oorochimaru's goons came to take him. I was thinking about all of you who went to get him back, and you and Sasuke's fight here.'

He didn't answer me, he seemed to be lost in his own world.

I knew that had been a bad idea.

Especially before the conversation that was about to take place.

'Naruto?'

'Yeah?'

Wow, he answered on my first call.

'Let's just get this over with.'

'Oh. Yeah.'

He seemed to be shaking off memories.

I let him take his time, and mentally prepared myself.

But there was nothing I could've done to prepare for the first question.

'Do you love me?'

'What?'

'You heard me.'

'Naruto... I love you, but not like that. You're my best friend.'

'Okay. I get that. Th point is that you love me.'

'I-I do.'

'Then why did you leave me?'
