I sighed and opened my eyes. Never had I met an opponent more annoying than Danzo. No, wait. Maybe I had. And he was standing right in front of me, examining his fresh beheaded and one-arm-missing sculpture.
Orange-Face jumped down from his pillar. 'Good work, Sasuke,' he said. I glowered. Yeah. Good work Sasuke. Not that I wanted any appreciation from this guy, but dude; I wasn't just standing there doing nothing. 'As for you, Hana,' Orange-Face turned to me.
'That was remarkable. A female Uchiha with Susanoo.... It has not been for several centuries. Nevertheless, you are the child of the prophecy. It was expected. But not losing an eye after using Izanami.... that is something worth seeing again. But you have a decision approaching, young Uchiha. We will meet when you have chosen.'
Then he did that weird Kamui teleportation thing, and before I could say a word, he was gone. Fantastic. There he goes. I'm gonna find a way to kill him, you see if I don't. He's gonna die for sure, by my hands. Most probably.
I know you doubt it, but I was still on Konoha's side. Even though I had betrayed the twice now. You see, I had no intention of causing harm. I could've, if I'd wanted to. But I didn't. True, I had just killed (damn right, I'm taking the credit for that kill) the wannabe Hokage, a village Elder, but after all, I had done the village a service. And it was worth it, because I'd also helped the village along with Sasuke's revenge.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when I saw a figure approaching the mostly destroyed bridge from the forest. A figure with pink hair, cut short. A figure with a fully pink outfit, and a Konoha headband. A figure whose name I surely knew, that figure had been my friend for the past four years, constantly annoyed of my friendship with Sasuke.
An idiot named Sakura Haruno.
I turned my Sharingan on and off to double-check. Yep. No doubt about it. Uh-Oh. Things are about to get ugly.
'Sasuke,' she called when she was within earshot. He turned. Sakura eyed the destruction of the bridge, and then Danzo's dead body, head still rolling, with friction doing it's work on it. Realisation dawned, but that didn't seem to discourage her.
If anything, it made her more determined.
Heights of fangirling.
'I have betrayed Konoha,' she announced. 'I want to join you, Sasuke. I'm tired of being all goody-goody, and....' she paused. 'I miss you, Sasuke. I know I couldn't stop you when I met you in the village the day you were leaving, and I also couldn't stop you in Orochimaru's lair. So instead of stopping you, I've come to join you, Sasuke, instead of killing you.'
I was looking at Sakura the whole time, mouth open. I quickly shut it, but then opened it to say something. But Sakura gave me such a look that I shut it again. Great accomplishment, that. Almost no one can stop me when I want to say something. But I understood that this was between Sakura and Sasuke. I left then at it, and started to move away.
'Wait, Hana,' Sasuke said. I turned and raised my eyebrows at him, but shifted back to my original position, beside Sasuke. He looked at Sakura. 'If you really want to join me, prove it. I have a task for you.' I rolled my eyes. Sasuke looked smug for a second, but then returned to his usual mask of indifference. Then Sasuke said-
'I want you to try killing Hana.'
I looked at Sasuke like he suddenly grew horns on his head (which wouldn't be surprising). Sakura! Kill me! The words just didn't sound right together. And anyway, Sasuke himself couldn't kill me, forget about Sakura. I could kill her with just one wide ranged jutsu. But as I always say.... don't underestimate anybody.
I learnt that the hard way. It was hard not to, when your opponent looked like she might bolt any second. I smacked Sasuke on the head, and then turned my whole body towards Saura, not moving my position next to him. I might just be beginning to understand what she wanted to do.
Of course, I could be wrong, resulting in her most probable death. But even if she was going to do what I thought she was, the plan would fail. No, it wasn't expected, but he wasn't that bad of a shinobi.
Sakura shakily said, 'Yes, Sasuke.' I smacked him on the head again, and I hoped the smacks would help increase blindness when it all played out because..... yes, I sensed another familiar figure, who knew I could sense him. The other two on the bridge weren't aware yet.
I scanned our surroundings. I couldn't see him. Good. He was staying hidden until it was time. Waiting. Good job!
Looking around, I had gotten distracted. Sakura used this opportunity to charge, making me doubt my plan slash theory just a little. I didn't move. Her plan better be what I thought it was, or else she was getting it. I was sticking to Sasuke like glue just because of my suspicions of her well-thought -out, sure-to-fail plan.
Sakura was almost on me when she turned her body towards Sasuke and instead of attacking me, attacked him. Perfect! The plan was executed!
And..... it failed, like I thought it would. Baka.
Sasuke was surprised, but his reflexes saved him. He bought his katana up instinctively to protect himself. Sasuke held Sakura in check, and then pushed her back with full force, off the side of the bridge. Sakura went almost willingly, she could've stopped herself if she wanted to.
Sasuke knew that too. He jumped off the bridge, and just then the man who was waiting in the shadows made an appearance.
Kakashi Sensei stood before Sasuke, Chidori activated. I wanted to clap and shout 'Yay!' but I didn't. Too embarrassing.
