----<>----

Perci sat in the park. All around her nature was blooming, she watched with silent awe as a butterfly landed on a flower only a little bit away from her bench. It was bright blue with the tips dipped in black ink. The only reason she watched it was for the fact that she was trying to distract herself.

As she had promised Calix, the very next day she had set up a get-together so that he could explain himself. Though she didn't really believe that a player like him could truly explain himself. What was he going to say, 'oh I'm sorry, I got bored.' A pathetic explanation, just like the, 'its not you, its me' excuse.

Last night she had dropped Eridani off again at a friends and went out to party for most of the night, giving her black bruises under her eyes and a gigantic headache. She felt bad that she constantly dropped the responsibility of taking care of Eridani on others but right now, she didn't feel emotionally stable enough to full-time take care of the boy.

Especially with the fact that early this morning, she get a letter from the Fates stating that soon, she would have to return back to her own world. To a world where apparently a war had started again, they said that her duty as the Heir of the Fates was to assure that things went as they planned so she was required to head home.

Maybe it was good that she and Calix had 'broken' up, she would never see him again, her time in the world was running out.

A throat cleared itself to the left her. Perci slowly looked up to see the very man she was currently thinking of.

Calix looked extremely nervous and almost desperate, he had a large bouquet of flowers held in his hands. "Perci, I- I..."

She stopped him with a hand in the air, patting the spot beside her. "I said we would talk this out like adults, now sit and speak coherently and not like someone who doesn't know the English language and has a hard time articulating."

"I'm sorry."

She ignored him, "but apparently you don't know the English language if you go around kissing your girlfriends' co-worker."

Calix's hands tighten around the bouquet, crinkling a bit of the fancy paper, "I promise you I hadn't! She attacked me! Come on you have to believe me, I would never do that to you!"

The blue butterfly fluttered away and Perci watched it sombrely, "and yet your reputation precedes you. How many other girls have you said that too?"

"I-" He choked, "I may have said it before, but I didn't mean any of it, they were nothing to me."

Perci shot to her feet, glaring at him, "and so does that mean I'm nothing to you? Just another pretty girl that you, a rich frat boy could have fun with?!"

He followed her to her feet, his own voice raising, "you can't just- You're different! I haven't and didn't ever care for them the way I care for you! Why can't you see that?"
