Fourteen Minutes.

He always came fourteen minutes before closing.

And, Perci wasn't sure if why, but it made her hate him all the more.

The awful honey-blonde hair coloured boy would always arrive fourteen minutes early, and he had somehow found out which section was hers.

Ok, sure.

He's only done it twice, starting on Monday, a few days after when he came to the diner, drunk, celebrating a win with his friends.

And the only reason she called him awful was because he was annoying, he was too... nice.

Yeah, yeah. Call Perci paranoid, but can you blame her? A lot of bad things have happened in her life, if she wasn't paranoid something would have definitely been wrong with her.

Resigning herself to her fate once again, Perci walked up to him, and tried to remain cheerful, "good evening, sir, how can I help you tonight?"

Calix Blaise smirked up at her, he drawled out, "I'll just have another coffee."

Perci rolled her eyes, apparently he was still on his coffee and alcohol diet. She nodded, and turned around quickly going into the back to get his coffee for him. He reeked of alcohol. Reaching for a metallic red mug, she quickly poured some coffee into it. Checking the digital clock on the wall, she sighed as she saw it said 9:51.

She quickly returned to the table and placed the coffee in front of Calix, his tan skin somehow seemed to glow in the dim lighting of the Red Top Diner. Perci found him writing in his notebook, his laptop open on the table beside him. She looked at it for a few seconds, only catching a few words like 'Epidermis' and 'melanocytes'.

"I'm trying to finish my Med' homework." Calix volunteered, catching her gaze. Perci almost blushed when he called her out, but she held strong, changing the topic a bit, though not much.

"Not that I care, but aren't you just a football player?"

He laughed, almost mockingly, leaning back in his seat, "just a football player? Do you really think I would have football player as my first option for the future? So many things could go wrong their and I would be thrown out with so much debt."

Perci rolled her eyes once more.

Calix ran a hand through his hair which was messily styled up, "you really don't like me do you, sweetheart?"

Perci wasn't exactly sure what to do, she had never exactly been hostile to a client before (media and news reporters don't count), she had never said she "didn't like them" straight to their face, even when they had been gross truck-driving pigs. She liked to keep her head down, and her pay checks coming. She didn't think it'd be a good idea to start now. Yet, something about this boy, Lachlan's friend, in particular set her off, pushed all the wrong buttons. "Not particularly." she bit her lip, regretting speaking as soon as the words came out. "And don't call me that."
