The air raid sirens in the city screamed loudly, though now, they were at a distance. She was over half a click away from the city. The monsters and aliens were getting closer, she could almost see them as Aletha was built higher, elevating it to be able to see the monsters better.
In a few hours the sun would begin setting and Perci couldn't help but appreciate the peace in the battle preparations . The soldiers of Aletha were quiet about it, not boisterous, not rude. They seemed to understand that they could very well be dead and rotting in a ditch somewhere by night fall.
Unlike the soldiers of Aletha, the people from Zeno, Zenonites, were loud. Sure she couldn't blame them exactly, their home had been trampled, destroyed, gone, overrun by monsters and aliens. She could practically feel Apollo grinning beside her, Perci rolled her eyes at him. Only he would find her murderous tendencies 'funny'.
She finally looked away from her traitorous ex-boyfriend. And at the crowd of Zenonites. So many old memories filled her head.
To just name a few; Andrew, Jason, Piper, Grover, Thalia. Along with godly figures like Artemis, Hera, Aphrodite, Zeus and many more.
A Gamma-level commander saluted Alpha Di Angelo and Alpha Valdez before stepping out of the way. He bowed as Apollo passed him. Perci could see the Zenonites widening there eyes in surprise, eyeballs practically falling out of their sockets. To them, Apollo had not been seen in almost two years.
Apollo lined up with the Alpha's, Perci on his arm and a casual grin on his face. It was obvious who was the superior city at this point.
Hera scoffed, "they let a slut on the battle ground?"
The wife of Zeus hadn't changed a bit, Perci realised. The cloaked figure rolled her eyes, though they couldn't see it, they could feel it. Nico opened his mouth to defend the unknown girl but she defended herself faster, "looks like you haven't changed a bit, Hera. But I guess it would take one to know one, eh?"
Hera grinned victorious, not realising the insult, "exa..."
Perci interrupted her, "too bad you're so blind you can't tell the difference between a slut and me."
It seemed to click in Hera's mind and she grew red in rage, she jumped forward, but instantly around a dozen guns were aimed at her. The cloaked woman didn't even flinch and Apollo's grin turned into a smirk.
Nico interrupted Hera's anger, "now we don't want any trouble, but we'd have no problem gunning you down right now before facing our actual opponent, we'd only be missing a few bullets."
The Zenonites seemed to realise the position they were in.
On the other hand, Perci decided to observe the surroundings, trying to memorise the landscape in preparation for the enemy that neared every minute. The landscape was almost beautiful at this point if you ignored the sound of metal being sharpened and the shouts of commanders organising their troops.
Some of the soldiers looked barely of age, many looked frightened. It reminded Perci of the Second Titan War and the Second Giant War. Children who should not have joined war, not even seen it had fought valiantly, loosing there lives for those of others. Perci could already see the bloodshed this battle would bring.
