Two days passed and Perci woke up on Friday morning. Going through the usual routine she got dressed, brushed her teeth, and so on.
She gently woke up Eridani who, when realizing what day it was, jumped up from bed excitedly and also rushed off to get ready. By the time he had eaten his breakfast and gotten all ready, the time for him to head for the bus stop was approaching.
Perci smiled as she waved him goodbye, he eagerly said his own goodbyes before running off. She had once again made plans for him to stay over at his friends house so she could go over the Night Club. The blonde-haired girl went through the motions of school work calmly, it was coming to the end of her first year at the New York City University studying for a psychology degree. She also spent a lot of time reading, taking advantage of her dyslexia-free state.
She read Harry Potter, and was even able to write a whole essay on how Tom Riddle was probably fashioned after psychopaths. You know, with the whole not having any emotions or being able to form attachments. And then the part where he was very deceptive, manipulative, and sickeningly charming.
Anyways, once Percy got to the RedTop Diner that night, she could feel herself growing more and more excited to go out that night, she hadn't gone to a Night Club in what felt like years. And as expected, fourteen minutes before closing, a young man with honey-coloured hair walked through the doors, taking a seat at his usual spot, a laptop and book set up within seconds after he had sat down.
Perci gave an amused roll of her eyes as she pulled out her notepad and pen, she approached the booth he was sitting at and couldn't help but notice that he looked quite fine that evening, already dressed up for that night. "Good evening, sir. Coffee, is it?"
"Of course."
Calix looked up, his eyes were shinning with a new sort of light, a new sort of life in them she had never seen before. In fact his whole face seemed more jovial and happy and somehow accomplished. She wanted to ask, wanted to know, wanted to go to him and understand him, finally, but she knew nothing good would ever come of that.
At least from experience.
The blonde gave the boy a slight smile as she quickly went and made his coffee, pouring it into a blue mug. With gentle hands she brought it over to him and took a seat across from Calix.
There were no other customers in the Diner and Mary was sitting on the other side of the store, texting on her phone. The dark-haired Mary seemed to be agitated with Perci who had told her she was calling in a favour and instead of Mary leaving early this time, Perci was. Thought it made no sense for Mary to be annoyed as Perci wasn't obligated to do anything for the cherry-lipped girl.
"Thank you, Perci."
She raised an eyebrow at him, "what's got you so cheery?"
He snorted, "well other than you finally agreeing to meet me somewhere outside of this Diner, I passed a big exam and am a few steps closer to graduating!"
Perci smirked, "and that's always a nice feeling." She tapped her cheek as she leaned forward, smirking when Calix seemed to physically restrain himself from looking lower than her face. "And I didn't agree to meet you anywhere, doc, I just felt like hanging out at a Night Club and it seems we both have this anonymous feeling that we'll meet each other there."
