I went back to school; only this time, I decided to focus on class and not worry about Brandon. Since he made it loud and clear nothing was ever going to happen between us, I wasn't going to worry about it.

Of course, when I arrived at school, this meant Homecoming was coming up. I looked at the posters and shook my head.

"Sounds like a fun time," someone said as I turned to see a guy standing there, who I never saw before. That wasn't so weird whatsoever.

"Hello, a strange guy who randomly pops up that I don't know," I greeted him.

He chuckled as I gave him a strange look.

"My name is Keith," he introduced himself while holding out his hand.

"Andi," I replied as I shook his hand.

"Now that we introduced ourselves, we can get to know each other before I ask you to homecoming and you accept," he commented confidently.

"You're very odd," I countered.

"I like to think of it as being confident with a mixture of mysterious," he grinned.

"Or you're just going to make me look like a fool. No thank you," I said as I walked away from Keith. That was the last thing I needed, getting my hopes up only let down, over and over again.

Most of the day was beautiful, besides the fact, Brandon and I weren't speaking to each other, and whatever class we did have together, I sat in a different seat. It was better that way. He made himself clear.

Come lunchtime; I sat at the table as everyone spoke about homecoming. I tried to focus on what I was going to eat and not eat. Of course, they watched me, which made me feel so much better to have people watching me like a hawk when it came to me eating.

While I was pondering this, I didn't notice Keith sat down and joined us, alerting the others.

"So, about homecoming?" He inquired as I looked at him, confused.

"You're pretty persistent, aren't you?" I asked him.

"I refer to it as being consistent," he grinned.

"Who are you?" Brandon asked him.

"Keith Andrews, a fellow student and future suitor of Andi," he introduced himself to Brandon.

"Damn dude, you have balls on you," Casey implies as Brandon furrowed his brows.

"I like to think of it as confidently experienced in the art of love," he wiggled his brows at me as he smiled.

This guy was something else, and I don't think it had to do with confidence. Insanity yes, confidence no.

"Well, I figure since no one has bothered to ask Andi to homecoming, I might as well," he smirked, angering Brandon and annoying Casey while Marta and Coop just looked at each other confused.

"Too bad Andi already has plans," Brandon snapped as we all looked at him a bit surprised.

"Yeah with me," another voice responded as we all turned around to see Cody standing there.

"What?" We all answered in unison.

"I'm taking Andi to Homecoming. I asked, she agreed, so she already has plans," he shrugged as I sat there dumbfounded. I had no idea what to say while Coop developed a hurt look, Marta sat there utterly confused, Casey was wondering when the hell froze over, and Brandon was pissed. All the while, Keith shrugged before getting up to leave.

At this moment, I'm pretty sure I stepped into a Twilight Zone episode.

Later on that day, I hunted Cody down and to find out what the hell he was thinking. None of this made sense. I found him and dragged him into an empty classroom while shutting the door behind us.

"Have you lost your mind?" I exclaimed as he stood there.

"For a girl, your quite strong," he remarked.

"You never asked me to Homecoming," I said emphatically.

"True but they don't know that, and I'm pretty sure that Keith dude wants to stand you up," he reasoned.

"What?" I looked at him, confused.

"Keith doesn't have your best intentions, and Brandon is too chicken shit to ask, so I figure I take you and maybe, just maybe, he will get off his dead ass and admit his true feelings," he explained.

"Shouldn't I be the one to decide who I go with?" I questioned him.

"Sure, but don't say I didn't warn you," he shrugged as I rolled my eyes at him before leaving. I refuse to go to Homecoming with someone who already told me he didn't like me. I didn't know Keith well but didn't mean he was a bad guy. Then you have Brandon who made his decision clear. At this point, I had nothing to lose.

I found Keith in the hallway and walked over to him. He turned to me, "did you come to your senses?"

I gave him an annoyed look, "yes, I will go to homecoming with you, only because I refuse to go with him," I pointed at Cody who shook his head.

"Good choice because I'm always the better candidate," he grinned.

"Don't get cocky, pick me up at right at night at my house and don't even think about anything sexually happening between us. This just so I don't have to attend with someone I don't want to," I informed him, making myself loud and clear.

"You got it," he smirked.

I shook my head as I turned and walked away. Something told me this was going to blow up in my face, big time. I just knew I refused to attend with Cody after what he did, and Brandon wasn't an option. No way was I going with Casey or Coop that makes me seem desperate.

After school, I met up with Marta who had a lot to say when I told her what I did. Boy, did she have a lot to say?

"Andi, why would you agree?" She questioned me.

"Marta, we all know how this ends. I go with Cody, and I end up being a joke. Brandon has made it clear, nothing was ever going to happen to between us. Contrary to popular belief, nothing is meant to be," I told her.

"Then sometimes someone is meant for you, and it's not Keith," she countered.

"Doubt it, plus I already told Keith the rules. He breaks those, and I'm pretty sure my dad will break him," I smirked.

"If he doesn't, then I'm sure Mack will," she giggled as I laughed while we pulled out of the driveway. Whatever happened at this point, I had a feeling it was going to change everything and not the way I expected.

Did I forget to mention there's a part 2 to this? Oops, my bad. Guess you will have to wait to find out what happens in the next chapter.
