( Alabasta Arc )

"Where's Ace?" Luffy asked as he looked over the rail of his ship almost like he was expecting his brother to come out of nowhere. Ashe huffed ,a sour look on her face, as she listened to the pirates talk about his brother.

"You didn't just leave him ,did you?" Usopp asked.

"Umm, sort of. But don't worry, Ace is really strong!" Luffy laughed as he grinned at his crew.

"So how strong is he?" Chopper asked.

"Well let me put it like this. When we were younger, I was never able to beat him in a fight and this was back in the days before he ate the Flame Flame fruit. That's how strong my big brother is!" Luffy said proudly as he sat beside the gunslinger who, out of spite, dug her heel into his toes. Nami sweatdopped at the childish act.

"You mean there's a flesh and blood person that you couldn't beat?!" Nami gasped in amazement.

"The big brother of a monster is an even bigger monster!" Usopp muttered, almost scared.

"I guess so cause Ace used to beat me up all the time!" Luffy cackled before continuing " but I bet now I could kick his big butt!" He laughed loudly as he leans on the railing on the Merry heavily. He ignored the throbbing in his foot.

"I'd like to see you try and back that claim!" Zoro chuckled.

"So, exactly who's butt..." A voice echoed from behindd Luffy. A figure lands on the rail while Luffy falls to the floor "is getting kicked!".

Ashe stared, wide eyed, at the 2nd devision commander that was seated barley three feet from her. Her hand instinctively began to reach for the hunting knife that was strapped to the back of her belt but stopped when she remembered where she was. She clenched her fist and instead went back to smoking angrily. Today definitely wasn't her day.

"Oh hey Ace, this is the crew I was telling you about!" The rubber boy exclaimed happily from his spot on the floor.

"Nice to meet you and thanks for taking care of my kid brother, I knows he's a handful!" The young man said as he bowed his head.

"Oh no, not at all!" The crew answer in unison.

"Come on, be honest, this is Luffy we're talking about! Isn't he a bit much for you to handle at times?!"

"Not at all" they said again.

"You're good people"

"We'll sit down and relax, I bet you two have a lot of catching up to do, I'll make some tea" sanji said as he brought a fresh cigarette to his lips.

"That's thoughtful, but I don't want to impose" Ace said before he pointed his finger at Sanjis cigarette. The tip burst to life with a small flame before it began to smoke regularly. Ashe watched in bordem before pushing herself off of the rail and instead took a space leaning against the mast. Her red eyes were fixated on Ace, who stared at her with fascination. He winked at her playfully, knowing fully well who she was, before turning back to his brother. Ashe chuckled at his forwardness.

"He's not exactly what I expected"

"I'll say"

"He's polite, helpful and gracious. The polar opposite of Luffy"

"One of them only cares about stuffing their face, there's no way these two could be brothers?!"

"While the other only cares about his brother!"

"I wash I had a wonderful brother like that!" Chopper sobbed

"I wish I had a wonderful captain like that!"
