( Alabasta Arc )
A deep and threatening chuckle came from deep with in the Warlords chest as his dark grey eyes traveled across the helpless victims caught in his tricky snare. The smirk he wore was as triumphant as it was smug.
Luffy sneered with a frown, still sprawled across the floor, as he glared at the one handed man. Usopp and Nami stared in terror, arms up in a surrender motion, as gentle whimpers and cried slipped passed their parted lips. Smoker and Zoro glared passively while Ashe stalked forward to lean against the cage. She had her elbows braced again the bars, arms going through the spaces, as she puffed on the cigarette between her teeth. Her glare was fierce but Crocodile only continued to smirk.
"So he's one of the seven Warlords, is he" Zoro growled, had still resting in the handle of his blade.
"You're every bit the low life sea scum I imagined" Smoker barked. Ashe huffed a chuckle at his insult but never took her ruby eyes off their captor.
"My, my" Crocodile said in an almost endearing tone "you're every bit the wild dog I heard you were Smoker.". He came out from behind his furnished desk and took a few steps toward the cage "Unlike your superiors, you never really believed I was on your side, have you. And of course you were right. You know Smoker, I have a feeling you'll die bravely in the line of duty. I'll be more than happy to inform the government that you put up a valiant fight against the Staw Hat pirates. I haven't the vaguest idea what brought you this country but I'm guessing you're on you own. We both know the government would never order you to come to this land, they have every confidence in me, a Warlord of the sea."
Luffy slammed a fist against the ground as he pushed himself up slowly "you big old bag of wind. You're Crocodile!"
Said man let out a hum of almost interest as the boy got to his feet and gripped the cell bars angrily.
"Come on and fight me like a man you big-!?" Luffy cut himself off with a weak groan as his legs gave out from underneath him. The sea stone was quick to sap all of his energy.
"PAY ATTENTION!" Usopp yelled "YOU GOTTA REMBER NOT TO TOUCH THE BARS!"
The Warlord ignored the boys idiocy "Straw Hat Luffy, I congratulate you on getting this far and I promise to dispose of you neatly and efficiently when our special guest of honour has made her appearance"
"Guest of honour?" Nami echoes.
"Why even as we speak my partner is on the way to fetch her" Crocodile hummed as he walked along the front of his desk till he stood across from Ashe. The white haired woman only tilted her head as the man smirked at her.
"Deadlock Ashe" he chuckled "I was quite disappointed when you turned down my offer and even more surprised when Mister 2 described a woman of your appearance traveling with a group of pirates"
Ashe smirked and blew her cigarette smoke out her nose slowly as she ignored the multiple gazes burning into her back "what can I say. Life is unpredictable"
He chuckled as he smirk grew "If you had accepted my offer of becoming a Baroque Works agent you would be standing this side of the cage but thankfully for you I'm feeling generous. The offer still stands but only in this moment."
Luffy let out an angry yell "NO WAY! She's my friend and she's gonna join MY crew!". He once more gripped the bars and once again collapsed. Ashe and Crocodile both simultaneously raised a brow at the young man before their gazes locked again.
"I'll have to decline" Ashe sighed "I ain't joining his crew but I owe him"
"Shame" The Warlord hummed before a dark smirk stretched across his lips "it would of been most proficient to have an ex-marine captain by my side"
