( Skypiea Arc )
Doflamingo was a pain in everyone's ass.
From the moment she had met him at her first war council, stationed at the door like a sentinel, he had pestered her with taunts and jibes about every inch of her person. The silken whiteness of her hair, the ruby red of her eyes, to how he though her trousers fit her legs just right. His chatter was endless. His voice grating on the inside of her skull like nails on a chalkboard. While other warlords, mainly Mihawk, were suave and had a tongue like velvet, Doflamingo was vulgar and cruel.
A shiver slithered down Ashes spine at the thought of the towering blonde man. Even the thought of his smile, sinister and unnaturally charismatic, was enough to make her break out in a cold sweat.
Quickly, Ashe stepped away from the symbol painted on the wall and began to make her way through the rest of the market in the opposite way that Robin had went. She'd rather never think of that man again yet somehow, he always seemed to creep out of the depths of her mind to taunt her. He had been one of the many reasons she had fled the Marines all those years ago. Him, her parents, the amount of corruption that had seeped into the once honourable organisation. Every little thing had pushed her closer and closer to her breaking point till she finally snapped in a bloody and spectacular fashion.
Ashe had been a good Marine. She treated her subordinates well and followed orders to a T. She didn't question her superiors, didn't question her parents, didn't question the world she lived in.
A good doll.
The cigarette in her mouth fell to the ground as it was bit in half, the orange filter locked behind her teeth as she ground them in anger. Ashe quickly spat it out with a sneer. Her heavy boots thudded against the rough gravely ground with each stride that took her in all directions, her clouded mind not really paying attention to where she was going. It ran away from her with thoughts on what to do with the information she had. Should she tell Luffy? No, he'd probably try start a fight and they were nowhere near the level of Doflamingo. He'd shred them with a flick of his wrist. The Warlord would probably laugh as he did so as well.
"Fuuuuck" The hissed as she pinched the bridge of her nose "stupid birdbrain just had to ruin the rest of my day."
A pirate passing her gave her a strange look as he caught her talking to herself but didn't have a second to get away before her hand was locked around his throat, pushing him back into the alley behind them. It was shadowed by the towering rickety buildings and smelt of days old beer. A rat, fat off of scraps, scurried away into a hole in the wall as Ashe slammed the man against it. She crowded him, toes of her boots brushing his, while her revolver let out a satisfying little 'click' from where it was primed under the mans trembling chin. There were easier ways to do this, like just asking someone, but she just wasn't in the mood to be civil.
"Who's in charge around here" She demanded, red lips pulled back into a snarl.
"who-who are you?" The man stuttered out. He squirmed in her grasp, one of his hands trying to pry her grip from his throat while the other went for the sabre strapped to his hip. Ashe simply kneed him in the crotch.
"Answer the question or I won't be so nice next time" Her tone was flat "I'm already in a bad mood so I'll only say this once more. Who's in charge "
The pirate chocked and wheezed as her grip tightened "Bell-Bellamy! You want him!"
"Bellamy huh." Ashe mused softly as she let go of the shorter man and pushed him away from herself "Thanks, now get out of here"
