Ashleigh and I stayed up late talking about how today was going to go. Dave told us we could say something on what youth group is to us, so I was writing a speech. I wrote about how when I was younger, my parents were divorced, so I basically lived with my grandparents and they are sweet Christian people. I wrote about my dad getting remarried and my brother and I and how we never got along with our new family. How my mom was in a very toxic relationship with someone who abused her emotionally and physically. I wrote about when things were finally starting to get better, my aunt died. How after that, I started losing a lot of people. I had to go to a lot of funerals. My stepmom was always in and out of the hospital. Girls in school were mean. I had a hard time making friends, and so I shut everyone out.
But then, I went to youth group and made amazing friends. Youth group became my place of safety, where I could be myself. Where I could walk in and leave all my problems at the door. It also had helped me become less shy.
I also wrote an appreciation for Ash too. For her and her family for taking me in, basically adopting me, and being the Christian family I never had.
Then we were talking about sssnakes  (Seth) and how we think he likes me. Always staring at me like sky zone and super bowl night. The way Isaiah picks on him about me. We ended up going to bed at like 2:30am or 3:30am.
I liked Sunday school today. Mr.Newl was there. The lesson was about how God can be our best friend. We can spend time with Him when we read our bibles. Our team won jeopardy, so we got donuts.
I kinda made Ryan, our favorite youth group counselor, sit with Ash and I in the balcony. At church, they played the song God of this City.
After church, we went to the store, then home. We helped Kiera roller blade and Ashleigh broke two plates.
Then, we went to youth group which was at Seth's house or "the Kevin's" for games, fire, and dinner. We had the 6th graders come so they can get a look of what the Jr high youth group is like when they move up in the fall.
Em, Ash and I hung out. Em was scared of Ms.Vicky in the bunny costume. Seth's dog was smelling my shoes. Seth's dad was laughing because I was trying to put a little kid crown on my head. We all eventually went to sit by the fire.
Isaac, one of the counselors, made Ash and I s'mores. Dave had the youth group counselors talk first and Jeremy was like,
     "I'm in 8th grade."
"No! Just because you went to my school, doesn't make you an 8th grader."
So, now I call him 8th Grader. Dave had the students start speaking.  I think I went third. Dave didn't make me stand because I was kinda nervous. I barley finished because I got emotional and started crying. Ash and Ryan were rubbing my back. Dave then said some stuff about me and how I was still a little shy.
I went to say bye to Dave and some of the other counselors, and they said they were proud of me. This one girl came up to me and told me,
"You're so brave for doing that."
Kevin hugged me and said, "you're really brave and sweet. Thanks for sharing tonight."
I played basketball with Seth until Ashleigh's dad came and got her and I. Kevin was talking to Fred,
"You got some sweethearts in this truck."
I went back to Ashleigh's house and ate pizza for dinner. Tonight was so good. I'm so proud of myself.
