48-Center of Attention

Alexis's pov

I gasped "he's not the father! Nooo!" I screamed at my tv

I was watching a life time movie and cooking at the same time Harry was gunna come see me tonight he's got a meeting a couple hours outside of town but he said he's gunna come spend the night with me cause my place is closer ,like he needs an excuse, but whatever so I'm making my famous chicken and rice something nice and warm for a cold rainy day like today

I peeked at my timer for my rice then right back at the tv "Kelly you cheating bitch" I mumbled leaning on my kitchen island I admit I'm inthralled with the cheesy storyline

I opened the oven pulling out the baked chicken breasts to let them cool and took off the rice everything had a chance to cool before Harry got here as soon as I had everything set out I ran to the sofa to watch the final few minutes of the movie

It ended and I was sucked right into the next ,partly because I didn't realized the first movie ended and the other one started, so I was trapped into watching another movie

I heard a knock I glanced at my cable box 9:56 I furrowed my eyebrows he said he'd be here around 11

I got up and peeked through my peep hole

I opened the door "Angel?" I questioned

She looked up at me wet and cold "h-hi" she whispered

"Darling get in here" I pulled her in noticing she was shivering I rubbed her arms "hun how'd you get here?" I frowned deeply

"Mom got mad at me so her new boyfriend dropped me off at dad's house but I didn't have my key so I waited but he didn't come home so I called dad's driver and asked if he knew where you lived... he brought me here" she bit her lip "I'm sorry"

"Sorry? No reason to be sorry" I shook my head "you need to get warm look go hop in the shower I'll dry your clothes and get you something of mine to wear okay?"

"Oh... n-no you don't have to do that I'll just..." she trailed off looking away

"You'll just get in the shower" I smiled and peeled her wet jacket off her "hop in and I'll get you clothes"

I guided her to the bathroom and let her get in after she was in I grabbed her clothes and washed them ,I couldn't just dry them, I went to my room and grabbed some sweat pants and a tee shirt bringing it back in the bathroom laying it out for her

I walked back to the kitchen I might as well make her some dinner I pulled out a bowl and scooped in some rice, then peeled some chicken pieces and spooned in some of the sauce stirring it up adding just a touch of pepper

It smelled mouth watering

After about 15 minutes I heard the water stop she got out got dressed and I saw her head peek out from my hallway "you hungry?" I asked she stepped out playing with her fingers

"A little" she mumbled

I grabbed the bowl and set it out on the island "Here try this"

she looked at it and sat down she took a bite and hummed "mmm that's good"

"Thank you It's home made" I laughed "its warm enough?" she nodded stuffing her face I laughed

"What happened with your mom? If you don't mind me asking"

She stopped shoveling food into her mouth "she's getting divorced again and her new boyfriend is only 4 years older than me I think it's gross"

I'm only 6 years older than her...
