The End

For bleuebellebleue. For those of you who think your favourite authors are out of reach, they're not. Nac is both a favourite author and an amazing friend to me. I'm so lucky to know her as well as I do.

Chat Noir's POV

I gazed at the man who gave me half of my DNA. "Gabriel."

He smiled twistedly. "Not even Mr. Agreste?"

"If I called you Mr. Agreste, it'd mean I had some level of respect left for you." My voice broke for the first time since finding this place. "Why did it have to be you?"

Ladybug cut in, "He wants some kind of wish, right? I'd imagine he wants to bring Mrs. Agreste back."

She stood ready, her yo-yo spinning fast. He pointed his cane at her. "Precisely, Ladybug."

I saw his eyes crumble. "I just want my wife back, and I need your Miraculous. Is that such a crime?"

Ladybug quietly said, "Gabriel, I'm not sure you fully understand what that wish entails. If you bring back your wife, then the universe will take something of equal value. If you go through with that wish, you could kill someone. In fact, it's more likely than anything that one of two people will die - my own mother or your son, Adrien. Do you want Mrs. Agreste back so much that you would be willing to risk the life of your own child?"

His eyes darted upwards, and then he exhaled a sigh. I began to smile - and then he uncapped his cane and launched it at her. She caught it with her yo-yo and grinned. Ducking, she let the - sword - go and his momentum carried him forward. She wrapped his body in string and nodded to me. "Would you do the honours, Kitty?"

"Of course, my Lady." I snatched his brooch, reverting it to its dormant state and forcing him to detransform. "Your days as Hawk Moth are over."
The window opened one final time as my partner smiled. "Bye, bye, little butterflies. Stay de-evilized, okay?"
I watched the white butterflies fly away one last time.

Mid final battle. Mid reveal. Full angst.
