Also for the wonderful and underappreciated bleuebellebleue . Her stories to tell are a thousand times better than mine could ever be.

Also, Rubee- , I really advise that you not read this chapter. You don't want to.

Adrien’s POV

Chloé was there when he received the ring.

Of course she was - she lived with him.

She was the one to open it, grabbing it from him. The little flying cat, who they'd later learned was named Plagg, had bitten her, spitting, “You're not my Chosen!”

Then he'd caught sight of Adrien, who observed in awe. “Ah, so you're siblings then?”

Adrien's pale lips began to curl into a grin before it died. Instead, a frown was born.

“No, Chloé is just a friend.”

Plagg deadpanned, “I'm going to be living with you, kid. Cut the crap.”

They were the same but different.

Adrien, the more sheltered of the pair, wore his heart on his sleeve. He was obedient, always acquiescing to others’ requests. He was the model.

Chloé, they both knew, was the one who'd inherit the company. She was the tough one, exuding a cold exterior and pressing her desires. She tied her ponytail, tossed her hair, and painted a mask of makeup on her face everyday, feigning indifference.

Everyone except her brother, Adrien. The twins adored each other.

However, the public story was that Adrien was an Agreste, while Chloé pretended she was a Bourgeois. The mayor had been willing to go along with the charade… with a little financial encouragement from her father, of course. It wasn’t preferable, but it was routine.

So it was natural Chloe be the one to slip on the ring and transform when Adrien fell sick.

Origins of Chaton Gemini

Chloe’s POV

My brother’s normally glowing, slightly tanned skin flushed with a red as hot as his fever. Plagg curled on his head, eating a piece of odorless Swiss cheese. I frowned, “Adrikins, what if there’s an akuma? How can Chat Noir be there? Why didn't have your umbrella that day when you came home? You must have known Father wouldn’t give you another one.”

In his clear delirium, he moaned, “Maman, can Chloe play with the kitten?”

Plagg opened an eye. “You know, it’s not a horrible idea. No one would suspect it to be you.”

I sighed. “I’d rather not. Ladybug is absolutely incredible and I would love to work at her side, but that spot’s rightfully Adrien’s. I would feel like a replacement. You said it yourself, “I’m not your Chosen. I’m not meant for this kind of role.”

Plagg noted, "You’re right. Between you and me, you’d be better suited for Lyrra. Mainly because she'd scare you straight like no one else. But I don’t think Fu plans to release any more Miraculouses, especially to someone who would typically be a Tiger Chosen.”

My voice wavered as I cried, “What’s wrong with a Tiger?”

He snorted, “Well, Lyrra's Chosens are normally passionate, judgemental, and impulsive.”

“And what’s so wrong about that?”
“Well, for one, you might start harming akumas after awhile in pursuit of Hawk Moth. Risking civilians to test who Hawk Moth cares about.” Plagg put his paws behind his head. “Then there’d be a huge scandal, and we can’t have that.”
