Haruhi: Dad there's not much to do now, it's all in the past...!

Ranka was fuming now. How dare Tamaki do something like that?!

Ranka: That doesn't excuse what he did to my little girl and granddaughter! I knew I never should have trusted him with you! I can't believe I let you go through that!

Haruhi tried to calm him down.

Haruhi: I know, I know it was bad, but I'm trying to forget about it, I can't let it get to me for too long, I have to focus on college, work, and most importantly I have to focus on taking care of Shiromi... I can't let what happened get in my way of me being a good mother...!

Ranka: And that's a good way to approach it, but what if his family does something? Besides you deserve to at least know why he lied to everyone. It can't just be because he didn't want Shiromi.

Haruhi looked down. Then she remembered that Tamaki was supposed to marry Eclair recently, and as far as his family knew he never had a child. At least she assumed so, considering that he told the whole school that Shiromi wasn't his.

But what if they did find out? Would they ignore it? Would they, hurt her and Shiromi? Would they take Shiromi away?! Haruhi tried not to worry about it, but the fear was still building in her gut. But it subsided, when another idea crossed her mind.

It wouldn't matter if Shiromi was his (biological) daughter. He would likely be required to try conceiving an heir as soon as possible. As long as there weren't any complications, and as long as she stayed out of their attention, she should be fine. The only way they'd know for sure is through a DNA test, or by looking at Shiromi's birth certificate.

Besides, it seemed like the position as heir to accompany is male dominated, normally Haruhi would be annoyed by it, but, now? She was thankful, cause that would give Tamaki and his family no reason to try and take Shiromi.

Even then, Tamaki rejected his responsibility as Shiromi's father, so he had no right to take her back. She stored the thought away quickly as she answered her father.

Haruhi: I-I don't know...

It was silent for a few moments.

Haruhi: Um... do, do you want to meet her...? Kyoya's taking care of her back at my house...

Ranka looked up at her, hoping she was serious.

Haruhi: I'm serious dad... do you want to meet her?

Ranka nodded nervously. Haruhi smiled and led him back to her small-ish house. They made small talk on the way back, neither knowing what to say to each other. They walked in and immediately saw Kyoya laying on the couch with Shiromi sleeping on his chest. Haruhi giggled walking over to them.

Haruhi: You mind? Dad wants to see her.

Kyoya shook his head as Haruhi gently picked the now squirming girl up.

Shiromi: Dada...!

Ranka tilted his head a little at her calling Kyoya 'dad', but pushed the thought away.

Haruhi: I know, I know sweetie, but look, someone wants to see you.

Haruhi looked at Ranka and handed the girl to him. Shiromi opened her eyes and looked at Ranka curiously. Ranka smiled at the little girl, feeling small drops of water form at the corners of his eyes. Haruhi smiled, Kyoya then got up and hugged her from behind and gently pecked her cheek and her neck, earning a giggle. Ranka looked up and eyed the two suspiciously. Haruhi looked at him and laughed.

Haruhi: Kinda forgot to mention that we're together now didn't I...?

Ranka looked like he wanted to give Kyoya the lecture about not hurting Haruhi, especially after what Tamaki did. But he turned calm again, considering that Haruhi was in the room.

Ranka: That explains why Shiromi called you 'dad'.

Kyoya laughed.

Kyoya: Yes it really does... it was her first word too...

Ranka then looked at Kyoya.

Ranka: Does your father know about this Kyoya?

Kyoya looked down and shook his head.

Kyoya: No... I want to tell him soon, but mostly when he's in a good mood... Haruhi can tell you why...

Haruhi looked at Ranka, who was still hugging Shiromi like she was as precious as Haruhi herself to him. Which was probably true when Haruhi thought about it.

Haruhi: Kyoya's dad is really strict with him and puts up these impossible expectations for him. I have tried helping him out with it, but there's just not much to do to change his dad's behavior. He most likely won't approve of Kyoya and I being a couple, especially since I have Shiromi, Tamaki's biological daughter.

Kyoya: Well Tamaki is married to Eclair now, so our parents definitely aren't fighting over you like they were during your first year...

Haruhi laughed.

Haruhi: Why am I actually happy about that...? But wait he did actually comment that I'd make a good wife for you Kyoya, so maybe he won't mind that much...?

Kyoya shrugged.

Kyoya: Possibly not, but you're still a commoner in his eyes, plus you already have a child. So he may not be so quick to appreciate a relationship between us. Especially if I want to marry you in the long run...

Haruhi looked down, than back at her dad.

Haruhi: Well, dad... what do you think about this...? I know you're probably not super excited to see me dating again after the whole Tamaki fiasco... and I can understand that, I wasn't expecting to fall in love again so soon after something like that either... but I would really appreciate you giving Kyoya a chance, he's been a huge help taking care of Shiromi while I'm at work or in classes, helping around the house... I'll admit I'm not sure if I'm ready for something long term yet, but I'm willing to give this relationship a try... what do you think...?

Ranka was silent for a moment, before he walked over and hugged the pair.

Ranka: Whatever makes you happy sweetie, just don't hurt her Kyoya...

Kyoya smiled.

Kyoya: I promise I won't...

Ranka nodded.

Ranka: Then that's all the convincing I need...
