The Next Day
Meanwhile
Ranka woke up and got out of bed. He looked at the clock and sighed. He got dressed for work and walked towards a room. He gently knocked before opening the door.Ranka: Haruhi are you aw-
Ranka found himself standing in the middle of an empty room. He always forgot what happened, and every time the realization hits him it hurts more. Every time he walks into a room thinking his daughter is there, the memories crash back into his mind.
Tears filled his eyes as he tried to forget, but every time he thought about Haruhi the memories came back to haunt him. Every day he was cruelly reminded that his daughter was gone. Every time he sees a picture of her, thinks of her or remembers her. He remembers exactly what happened the day she fainted during school, the day the doctors told them his daughter was pregnant.
Ranka remembered exactly how he reacted, how scared Haruhi looked, how he left the room after glaring at her. Then he remembered the day she came home from school looking upset, he remembered how he kicked her out of the apartment. Worst of all, he remembered the look on her face, and how hurt and helpless she looked. Knowing that everyone who cared about her were turning their backs on her.
Ranka remembered how Haruhi walked out of the house, large streams of tears falling from her eyes. Once she walked out and closed the door behind her, she was gone. The last thing he ever saw of his daughter in person, was her crying and thinking nobody loved her.
Ranka's heart tightened in his chest and burned with pain. How could he do that do his daughter? The only person he had left, he hurt and let go. Now, he may never see his precious daughter again.
He had several pictures he kept to remind him of his mistake. And to make sure he always thought of Haruhi. There was a picture of when Haruhi was a baby, then when she was five, then when in middle school. And then the last picture he had of her, was a picture of her with the host club.
Ranka sighed, at least her friends must have stayed, Tamaki must have right? After all he was the father. He walked out of the house in a depressed and broken state.
He spent the day at work hardly talking, and when he did talk it would be about Haruhi and he would end up crying. Ranka wished that he would see his daughter again, hear her, talk to her.
But he couldn't... he didn't have her number anymore, Haruhi changed her phone number to avoid cyber bullying. He had no idea where she was. Ranka would never see her again. And it was all his fault.
Meanwhile
Haruhi walked towards the printer in the doctors office waiting for the diagnosis papers. Doctor Odayaka walked in.Doctor Odayaka: Hi Haruhi.
Haruhi: Hi Doc, how's your day been?
Doctor Odayaka: Okay, but I'm used to it by now. Oh, how's Shiromi doing?
Haruhi: Good, she might be starting to talk soon.
Doctor Odayaka: Aw, would you mind telling me what her first word is if she does?
Haruhi: Sure. Though don't be too surprised if it's a little weird... my first word was a little weird, I don't remember but I just remember being so weirded out by it...
Doctor Odayaka: Hehe, honestly I could use some weird... like good weird that makes you laugh or think about it.
Haruhi: Hm, maybe I need that too...
Doctor Odayaka looked at her.
Doctor Odayaka: You know you should take better care of yourself Haruhi... if you need help you can just ask...
Haruhi: Well try taking all of that care into consideration while being a single nineteen year old parent, with a low-ish paying job, and spending the whole day at that job while hiring a baby-sitter while you're out...plus college...
Doctor Odayaka: Ugh, okay, but you should really get some more sleep... or at least try to...
Haruhi: I try but Shiromi keeps waking me up and I have early classes in school...
Doctor Odayaka: Are you sure you can handle all of that by yourself...?
Haruhi nodded.
Haruhi: I'm not alone anymore, I have three roommates- or, housemates, that help me in any way they can which I'm very thankful for. And I have my friends back... not Tamaki or my dad, but everyone else is suddenly supportive of me...
Doctor Odayaka: That's good to hear... but like I said before, let me know if you need any more help...
Haruhi: Alright.
Later
Hikaru sat on the couch with Kaoru sleeping soundly while leaning against his chest. Hikaru gently rubbed Kaoru's stomach hoping that he'd see their child at least once, or at least have a picture of the baby so he could know what they look like. And so he could have something about his son or daughter to keep close to his heart.Hikaru started to wonder what the baby might look like, what Kaoru might name it. He had just put Shiromi to bed, who was really liking him and Kaoru so far.
Honey: Hikaru?
Hikaru: Oh, yeah?
Honey looked at Kaoru for a moment.
Honey: Do you know?
Hikaru looked at Kaoru and nodded.
Hikaru: Heard him and Haruhi talking a few months ago...
Honey: Oh, how do you feel?
Hikaru: I'm not going to be like Tamaki, I'm trying to help Kaoru and trying not to force him to tell me on his own... but it's no use, Kaoru will never trust me to be different than Tamaki... no matter how hard I try to make it up to Haruhi, it won't effect Kaoru's will to tell me... and Haruhi still won't trust me...
Honey: It's okay Hikaru... Haruhi isn't mad at you anymore, you're helping her, she really appreciates that...
Hikaru: Thanks Hani...
Honey sat on the couch next to Hikaru.
Honey: When does Haru-chan get back?
Hikaru: Four... though she might stay late...
Honey: Okay.
