Chapter - Nine - The Castle
Bethany's POV...
I close my eyes and keep my forehead against Jack's relishing in the sparks that traveled all around my face.
My mind keeps repeating the kiss over and over again in a never-ending loop and slowly, as my mind finally realizes what just happened, a smile starts making its way on my face and grows wider as each second passes.
That was my first kiss.
"We should go back," Jack says and I nod, but neither one of us make a move to pull away from each other.
I feel sparks erupt where my forehead touches his and my hand leans towards him, interlacing both our hands together in a strong grip, I feel like if I ever let go, he'll disappear from existence.
And leave me back in the dark world that I lived in.
This man right here was mine. All Mine.
I let my thoughts slip through my mouth as I lay my rightful claim on him, Cassandra howling with joy in my mind with the bond taking its first step towards completion.
His mouth pulls up in a wide grin and brushes lightly against my lips. Happiness was clearly pulsing through his body, I could feel it even without looking.
"All yours." He whispers with a grin lacing his voice.
We stay like that for a while, not uttering a word and not daring to break the peaceful silence. Just enjoying each other's company.
Our foreheads connected and our hands laced together in a death grip as if we were each other's life-force. And if you really think about it, we really are.
"Come on, love birds. Break it up, we need to go." My father's voice fills the clearing and breaks our silence and soon after we can hear my mother's uncontrollable, not to mention teenage, giggling.
"Oh my goodness," I whisper and look up to the sky opening my eyes up, complaining to whatever God or Goddess who is supposedly watching my misery.
I release one of Jack's hands and turn to the source of my dad's voice, seeing him there I send him a very annoyed, death glare but he smirks at me, amusement clear in his feature as he relishes in my embarrassment and annoyance.
"Sometimes, I really wonder how." I sigh in annoyance and hear my mate's deep chuckle, "You think that's funny, eh?" I turn to him with that same glare, but the sight of his smile immediately softens my features.
"UGH! Whatever." I cross my arms over my chest and stomp towards my mother's giggling voice, fuming with barely contained annoyance.

When we returned to the house, all the furniture were gone and the rooms were completely empty. The only thing that was left was the kitchen utensils and stools.
"Where is everything?" I turn to my mother as she puts her hand onto my shoulder.
"We're moving back to the castle, dear." She says as she smiles at me with warm eyes and a comforting vibe around her.
"And you decided that without me?" I find myself asking her with wide and fear-filled eyes.
I wasn't really that keen on leaving my comfort zone.
"Well, it really wasn't something to discuss. It's been eighteen years, Bethany. And with you knowing the truth; we had nothing to stay here for." She says as she stands in front of me and caresses my face in her hands as she had done before a million times. "Sally can move to the castle, your mate will be with you. In the same room if you want."
