Chapter - Forty - Three - Pain

Bethany's POV...

I sit up with a gasp, my heart beating hard in my chest form the sudden horrors I had just witnessed, I was somehow laying on my back on mine and Jack's bed with my mother and Zoe sitting beside my head, my mother looked like she got into a fight with Zoe because when I bolted up in the bed they both looked at me like I was an alien coming down from outer space.

Zoe looked confused and utterly worried as she waited for something, looking like she was waiting for me to detonate into an explosion of tears or curses while my mother had a look of absolute relief on her face.

I hold my head in a tight grip from the sudden migraine that hit me out of nowhere and beating down on my head like a damn hammer, a groan escapes past my lips as I sit up properly and rest my pounding head against the headboard, closing my eyes as I rub my temples in irritation.

I don't know what just happened but I had a feeling I didn't want to know. Right now, all I wanted to do was go to sleep and never wake up again, or at least for a few long centuries.

"What the hell just happened?" I mutter in a weak voice as I rub my temples in pain, "It feels like I just got hit with a baseball bat on my head,"

"Nothing, honey, Just go back to sleep," My mother strokes my hair as she gives Zoe a pointed stare, immediately alerting me that something did happen and I was not just having a freaky dream.

"What happened, Zoe?" I ask in what I intended to be a firm voice but came out as a weak mutter as I look at my spirit with worn-out eyes and a heavy headache.

"I..." She swallows and gives my mother a small apologetic smile, looking back at me with the same glint in her eyes as her hands hover over mine, looking like she wanted to give me any kind of physical touch to provide me comfort.  "I entered your memories through your aura." She mutters through a small voice, her eyes looking down as if she feels like she did something wrong.

"My... Aura?" I inquire in a perplexed voice, tilting my head to the side as I look at her face for any hints of what she was talking about. I mean, I know what she's talking about, I know what the aura is, but I know it's impossible for people to come in contact with a living Aura.

She opens up her mouth, but I hold up my hand, silently telling her to stop as the intense pounding in my head increases in intensity and in rapidness, making my eyes roll to the back of my head as I collapse against the headboard, everything blanking out until I'm left in absolute darkness with only my pounding head as the background music.

I bite my lip in pain, my hands scrunching up at the back of my head as I pull on my hair, just wanting the agony to end.

The pounding increased, and slowly as my head clears I'm back in the place that I can only call my personal hell.

I stare wide-eyed at the corpses that were right in front of me, all so covered in blood and injuries that I almost didn't recognize them.

I look at one of them, my heart falling to my feet and my mouth opens to let out a scream, only to have it caught in my throat as I collapse right beside the coffin, his eyes were staring silently back at me, the shine in them gone and the usual love and awe absent in his beautiful greens. His hair, his luscious hair that was so soft to the touch and always seems to reflect the light in the room was dull and dry, looking just as dead as it can get. His skin, the lovely cream skin that now looked as pale as the snow was bruised and sliced at every corner, there was a trail of blood from his eyes, looking like tears of blood on his cheeks, making him look like something out of a horror movie.
