You called Damien and waited with apprehension for him to answer.
He didn't, you heard the tone dial and the electronic woman's voice informing you to leave a message. You frowned and waited for the beep.
"Hey Damien... It's... Uh me. Just wanted to let you know that Tia answered and she sounds perfectly fine but... Uh we need to talk because she-" you cleared your throat as thoughts snapped at you in your head.
"maybe she was right... He didn't love you."
No... He did.
"He did play you, was he ever really yours."
He never played me.
"He dated you just to make her jealous, he knew exactly how to get you to fall in love with him."
These thoughts circled over and over again in your brain, sometimes all at once, so quickly you gripped the phone tighter because they made you dizzy.
Shayne gripped your shoulder to let you know it was alright. Your hand instinctively touched his.
" She said something that I'd rather talk to you in person about." you finished.
You hung up.

The phone hadn't rang since you had hung up an hour or two ago but you got a text of confirmation from Damien and after a "where do you want to meet up?" text from you your phone had been completely empty.
Shayne and you sat on the couch eating toast and laughing at whatever ridiculous show he had found and put on.
Shayne was definitely improving your mood, but another worry had wormed its way into your mind.
What if Shayne was only sitting there to comfort you to get you to date him?Shayne never seemed like that type of person, but Damien didn't seem like the type of person to date somebody if he wasn't over another person yet.
You fiddled around with your toast before taking a bite absently.Shayne kept glancing at you, you tried your best to pretend like you were focused on the TV.
"(Y/n) what's wrong?" He asked, pausing the show.
You picked at the crust on your toast some more before sighing and putting it down, dusting off your hands you turned to him and tried forming the words correctly in your head.
He waited, patiently, for you to speak.
Never once hurrying you.
"I... Am just worried," you began toying with the hem of your shirt "that-uh- you..." You felt your breathing hitch, you were close to crying. You were scared, you didn't want to hurt him.He reached forward but you shook your head and held up your hand signaling that you just needed a minute.
He pulled his hand back.
"Communication was key... But why does it have to be so hard? "
"you're only here to comfort me to try and date me... Later?" You finished apprehensively before speaking again, "God that sounds terrible of me to think but with us... Well having sex and you saying I love you and me kissing you I just... I don't know what I want,,,and I'm worried you don't actually care, that you're just in it to see if you could get me since you couldn't when I was dating Damien then.. and I know I'm talking to much now but I just can't get it out of my head.. I'm so sorr-"
"(Y/n/n) it's okay. It's reasonable for you to think that but I promise im just here as a friend unless you want to date me later. I promise I care about you, and I'd never date you just for brags or to get at Damien--or Tia-- ever. " He assured you. You allowed him to place his hand on top of yours.
You gave a breathy laugh, as a tear fell down your face.
You wiped it away with your free hand but the tears kept coming.
You didn't know why, maybe it was everything all at once.
Every little thing that had been bothering you over the past month all came out right there.
With that stupid simple caring gesture- you broke down.
You nearly screamed but bit it back and it came out as an ugly whining noise deep within your throat.
Every little thing.
Smosh's parent company going under, Damien loving Tia, Tia being able to get into your head, the fact that Shayne had been stabbed, the fact that you didn't know whether or not you really loved Damien or Shayne, the fact that Damien and Tia put you in this position in the first place, that Damien might not even love you, that Shayne might not have loved Tia, that Shayne might be Tia's version of your Damien, every. Single. Thing.Shayne looked taken aback at first but then opened his arms "do you-" he began and you nodded and fell into them as you tried to stop crying.
A text buzzed on your phone, you knew exactly who it was.
You nearly reached for it.
"Take care of yourself before you take care of anybody else for a bit." he whispered.
You hugged him tighter.
You didn't reach for your phone.
