Wes's car jostled you around as you two drove back into town. After the pepto your stomach didn't hurt as bad, and a few trips to the toilet did you some good as well... Though you did feel bad for whoever had to be in there next.
Wes pulled into a parking lot and you looked up from your phone
"Where-?" you began before you saw an old family diner type place from out of your window.
With the windows rolled down you could smell the familiar smell of fresh black coffee, and an all American breakfast.
Wes smiled "Breakfast."
You smiled back at him.
He parked the car near the door and got out, you placed your favorite Pokémon plushie to the side and unbuckled your seat belt.
To your suprise Wes came around the side of the car and opened the car door for you.
He held out his hand and you took it, giving him a small thanks as he helped you out of the car.
"I'm just going to show you how Damien should treat you, and if he doesn't, well..." Wes said, a smile in his voice.
You laughed "okay okay I get it." you winked.
Wes escorted you to the door and held it open for you, and a waitress from behind the door greeted you with a warm smile and kind words.
She sat you down at a booth near the window and you both ordered your drinks.
You gazed around the diner and took in all of the wonderful smells.
The diner had an old car tire hung up on the wall, and some pictures of what you guessed were the owners of it when it was first built, as well as some old vinyl records hung up.
An old record player was playing music from in the kitchen and you smiled, even out in the middle of somewhat nowhere the old diner seemed to be doing well.
Red and white checkerboard floor that was sort of sticky and clung to your shoes made you feel nostalgic of times when you used to go to diners with your friends or family.
You stared down at the laminated menu, coffee stained despite the laminate, and faded from exposure to time. Even though time seemed to stand still here.
You felt wes flick you on the forehead and you let your gaze drift upwards to his face.
"Whats got you worried?" he asked, concerned.
You smiled gently and decided on what you wanted to eat before answering "Not concerned, just nostalgic for when life didn't seem so complicated." You answered, and placed your menu down gently.
Wes reached his hand out and covered yours lightly before giving it a gentle and loving squeeze.
You let out a sigh and he took his hand away, no words needed to be spoken for him to understand what you meant.
The waitress came back in her sunflower colored dress, reminiscent of the 1960's and took your order.
You and Wes sat in a comfortable silence until your food came, before you two started to talk.
"What are you thinking about doing now that the company is..." Wes began
"Streaming, maybe. Twitch is becoming bigger right now and it helps having been apart of a bigger channel on YouTube." you said, picking at your food a little bit before taking a bite.
He nodded, "I'm holding out hope that we're going to land back on our feet but it seems like we're not getting the channel back anytime soon. I'll probably head that route too." he said
"W could always stream together!" you added cheerfully.
"Or start a smosh streaming channel." He said.
"ohh you're right." You said, and continued to devour your food.
After some small talk and planning, you two decided to head back into town, Wes heading in the direction of your house.
What you didn't expect to see was your first ex boyfriend... Ever.
Standing on your front porch, holding a box.
You felt anger.
Wes slammed on his brakes as soon as he was in your drive way and didn't even bother to stop the car before jumping out, he knew exactly who he was and what an asshole your ex was.
You told Wes all about it the night that you two first bonded really well, talking about past relationships and shitty ex's.
This guy took the cake.
Brad, charming, handsome, tall, ripped, and a cheater.
You still remember walking into his apartment and finding her shoes on the floor, then her skirt, then her shirt, and then her underwear.
And then her. Underneath him, both in his bed. On your two year anniversary.
