You took his hand and graciously accepted his offer. You grabbed your phone, opened up Spotify and pressed a random reccomended playlist.
The music started and you set your phone down on the counter, Shayne grabbed your free hand and you both began to stumble dance around the kitchen.
You giggled, and sometimes the golden sun blinded your eyes and shone through Shayne's hair. You felt his hand on your waist, and the other gripped your hand.
He smiled and pulled you closer, wincing slightly as the sun then got in his eyes as you both turned.
"sorry, you're just so blindingly beautiful." He said cheesily.
You let out a snort as you tried to hold back laugher, causing you to both burst out laughing.
Young and beautiful echoed in the background, and you hummed a long.
Shayne pressed his forehead gently against yours.
You sang along quietly, and smiled as shayne pretended to sing along.
"You don't know the words, do you?" You asked.
"No." He admitted and you both laughed again.
"God Shayne I was so horrible to you, wasn't I?" you asked, sad.
"No, you just had a different view on stuff then." He said, but there was an underlying sadness that betrayed him.
You took your hand off of his shoulder and cupped his face.
A new song started.
He leaned his face in your hand.
You felt your heart skip and then..
You kissed him.
It was so sudden, but it was so needed.
You could feel his suprise before he melted into the kiss as he dropped your hand and held you gently.
He picked you up after a bit of kissing and set you on the counter. You wrapped your legs around him and he kissed you gently, breaking away for a moment.
He kissed your nose lightly and you giggled again, as he stopped kissing you entirely and just.. Hugged you.
He just held you.
You let him, and you wrapped your arms around his neck and held him back.
"want to watch a movie?" you asked.
"yeah. Can I hold you during it?" he replied.
"you can hold me whenever you want."
You felt him relax into you even more.
You felt at peace.
Everything around you, the drama, the tiredness, the emptiness, all of it... Melt away.
Maybe Shayne was what you wanted all along.
Or maybe he was just what you needed.
You felt self doubt creep up into you, and guilt.

Pins and needles of overwhelming amounts of guilt and shame poked holes in your stomach and wormed inside of you. You felt tears form as Shayne's happiness weighed on you heavily.

He felt you tense up and heart you sniff.
"what's wrong?" he asked, you saw your doubt reflected in his eyes.

"God Shayne I just don't think I deserve you." You whispered, as he sweeped some of the tears off of your face with his hand.

"Why not?" He asked, pulling you into a hug.

You let your hands trace his back as you tried to find the words.
He let you, and he waited, patient as he always was.

"I just, I let you hurt. I was selfish when I wanted Damien, and when I took you. Then I nearly left you all again and now here we are and I'm so happy but I don't deserve this, all of this. You." You tried to explain, your words falling flat from what you felt.

He pulled away and you let him, but you felt his hands gently grab your face as he made you look at him.

"You deserve this. All of it. We deserve each other, and every moment we spend together." He said, tucking a strand of your hair behind your ear.
(if you have short hair: He said, kissing your forehead)

You sniffed, and nodded "Okay." You agreed. There was still guilt, but it helped to get it off of you chest.

"What movie do you want to watch?" He asked.

"No no, it's your pick" you smiled, shoving him towards the couch.

"Okay okay no pushing!" He smiled, and grabbed your hand, pulling you off of the counter and towards the couch.

This time, it wasn't a horror movie.

Shayne was a big baby about them and you loved it, for such a strong man... He was very soft and sweet.

So you two ended up watching a romantic comedy, and you ended up cringing a lot. Second hand embarrassment was definitely a killer when your past year has definitely seemed like a big huge... Well romantic comedy.

Shayne had his head on your stomach, both of you lay down, with your back supported by the couches arm rest and a few pillows. Your legs came up over his hips, and he had his hands on your calfs.
You toyed with his hair and you felt him slowly falling asleep.
"I thought you were going to hold me." You said jokingly, running your hands through his hair.
"I was but this is nice too." He admitted, reaching up and trying to do the same to you.
"Sorry, only the person whos the holder gets to touch hair." You sneered, sticking your tongue out at him.

He rolled his eyes "yeah okay, who died and made you boss." Shayne retorted, grabbing you hand and pulling your arm closer to your calf, effectively leaning you forward, and brining his head up.
He ran his hands through your hair and you huffed as some of it got tangled.
"Yeah okay, nice going." You laughed as he grinned awkwardly.
"I'm sorry, please help." He pleaded.
You reached up and it took a bit for you to untangle your hair from his fingers.
"sorry, I didn't shower in the hotel." You murmered.
"It's okay." he said, and he let you finally lay back down.
You sighed in relief from the release of the awkward position.

Uou both turned your attention back to the TV. You kept cringing because the main character was... Well.. Cheesy and overdramatically awkward.
"ugh, shayne, I'm so over this romance chiz." You groaned, embarrassed for the character.

"Okay sure, you just slow danced with me in the kitchen." He scoffed.
"Thats different." You murmered
"why?" he asked.
"Because it's not a stupid rom Com!" You exclaimed.

"SHUT up!" He laughed, "Rom coms are so terrible that sometimes they're funny to watch!" He tried to defend himself

"Make me," You sneered, "Rom coms are pretty terrible and you won't be able to change my mind."

He perked up, "Oh make you shut up huh?" He asked, getting closer.

You felt your face turn red as Shane's lips met yours again that night.
