Hey, Guess What?

Every time my heart skips a beat
Every time I'm swept off my feet
The warmth that's felt in heart and head
That melts the metaphorical ice that's cold and dead

Why do you love me
Why do you care
You are so beautiful
Like the sky full of air

I fall asleep knowing I'm loved
Even though people spite it
But when push comes to shove
You are always there

Your long hair and blue eyes
My mediocrity, my fear of goodbyes
The hours turn into days
No matter the distance, I'll miss you anyways

Hey, guess what?
Remember the butterflies trapped in my gut?
What you did was the nicest thing
A thank you isnt enough, neither is a ring

I may not be cool, and I may not have money
But what little I have you can keep, and here is what's funny
You seem to be content with what I can give
It's like I'm what you need to truly live

That's a feeling I've never felt before
It's like walking through a sea of rainbows to get to the next floor

One day soon it will become real
When the crime is forgiven and we tell how we feel
The time moves forward like an old wooden wheel
One day soon and I'll have to take a kneel

Running through my mind like a treadmill
You are always there and my mind is at a standstill
A few more things I have to work out
A few more things, and then I'll remove every doubt......

Part 2 of this is thought of by every line
It's another case of Edgar's valentine........

A girl I never knew I needed
Art in every phase of it
Pricing out the emotions ingrained
A lie that's not needed to be concealed
A real feeling thats always remained

A playwrite script in the making
Never a happy moment that's shaking
Shock, pain, were all in my brain
Joy, and petty lines are all that remain
Ecstatic venues with stars around
I've always showed up lost
But with you I examined the path
The road to a place with you
A place where no dream is dead
