Nairi waited for Sparky to spend time with her. She saw him in good shape to train.
"Thanks so much for helping me," he said, "I want a little tour of this territory."
"Sure," Nairi responded.
She lead the way to the river.
"This river here is where we do some fishing," she said, "Across it is the East Region territory. We sometimes go there for help. I better take you to the training area."
Nairi led the Eletrike boy to an open clearing.
"This is where we train," she pointed out, "We couldn't find another rock type since Diana's the only one here. I hope one turns up soon.."
Sparky was growing close to Nairi. He is looking for her and learned something that she's Am's daughter.
"Nairi," he said, "You know you look a lot like your mother."
"Well, isn't that obvious?" Nairi asked, "Do you really think you can hunt properly now that you're fit enough?"
"I'll teach you to hunt one day," Sparky grinned, "I am grateful for what you are doing for me. I finally found somewhere I belong."
Nairi looked at him.
"Glad you got it," she replied, "My parents are very far and so are the leaders. Linda is the leader of the daylight girls and Percy is the leader of the Shadow Hunters. Ever since Fuyuki died and defeated by my mother, they merged bases."
Sparky took a liking to the idea.
"I once belonged in a group that treated me badly, I had to get away from all of it. It wasn't pretty what Kenji does to anyone who defines him. I lost my mother because of him."
"I'm sorry to hear that," Nairi wailed.
"I think here is much safer," Sparky said, "I don't feel useless here. I can maybe provide for the group to repay them for their kindness."
"That sounds sweet," Nairi added.
She felt like she could date him once she earns his trust.
Toshi was with Yumi.
"You could at least give him a chance," he said.
"I still don't trust him.." Yumi sneered, "He carries an odd scent, and I think he may cause trouble..."
"Why made you so sour towards him?" Toshi asked, "He hasn't done anything wrong so far."
"He was part of a group and he still carries the scent Athena had," Yumi sighed, "I hope she won't come back after what she did to Vivian."
"She's fine now," Toshi replied, "Lloyd has treated her wounds and she'll be ready to fly again. Where is he anyway?"
"Over here,"
The Litten boy looked a little concern about Yumi's behavior towards Sparky.
"Yumi, he hasn't done a thing wrong," he said, "He was scared and went into hiding. Nairi understands how he feels."
"He's right," Toshi nodded, "My sister is doing everything she can to help him."
Yumi knew he is right.
"Sure he had caused trouble in the past," Lloyd mewed, "but he's learning from his past mistakes as he stays with us. He had a rough time being on his own, and why he was thin. Give him a chance and you will see he's not so bad."
Yumi knew she can't argue with a healer. She went to her room in the base since she was tired of the silverfish bothering her in the tree house. Toshi was about to take a walk while Lloyd was about to get herbs again. Toshi was on his way to the river to look for Diana. She was asleep in the sun, warming up.
"Diana," he called out.
The Rockruff girl sat up and looked at him.
"You seen my sister?" Toshi asked.
"I have before falling asleep," Diana answered, "She was giving Sparky a tour of our territory."
"Your brother is looking for you," Toshi pointed out.
"Lloyd, oh, I completely forgot about that.." Diana yelped, "I better get going."
She started running to where her brother is. Toshi was a bit hungry. He looked down at the perch swimming around the river. We was about to strike, but Rika beat him to the first perch being caught.
"I had that one," he huffed.
"You were taking too long to strike," Rika mewed, "Let me teach you to catch- oh, right, you don't have any claws."
"Don't tease me just because I don't have claws," Toshi huffed again, "I don't need them to fish. I have a strong jaw."
"Be quick this time," Rika added.
Toshi was about to strike again, but this time he caught it.
"Hee hee!" Rika laughed, "That's a silly way to catch a fish!"
Toshi wasn't amused, but he had the fish in his mouth, it's fins on top were poking the roof of his mouth hard and he had to let go.
"Ow!" he yelped.
"Oh, let me take that," Rika mewed, "Hope that perch didn't poke you that hard. Better have Lloyd have a look at it."
"It's not bleeding," Toshi added, "I should be okay..."
"Leave the fishing to the cat mew mews," Rika purred.
'Okay...' Toshi thought in defeat.
