The sun was up the next morning.
"Ugh, get a room you two!"
Rika heard Mandy from outside. Vivian was all ready up and so was Lloyd. Only Flow was inside the tent with her sister.
"I think it's time we pack up this tent and travel to the next campsite," she said.
Rika yawned and try to stay awake.
"Incoming!"
Flow poked her head out and so did Rika. A pancake went flying and then splat on Rika's face. It slipped off and landed on the paper plate from last night.
"Sorry Rika!" Diana called, "My brother couldn't wait to flip it."
"Give the frying pan to me Lloyd," Sylvia put in, "I'll show you how it's done."
Rika felt the uncooked batter on her face and Vivian used some water to clean it. Nairi and Sparky weren't inside the camp by the look of things.
"Did you see where Nairi went?" she asked Sylvia.
"Over there with Sparky," Sylvia answered, "Behind those bushes, near the river. I think you're a little too young for this kind of stuff yet dear."
"Yeah," Mandy put in, "It's best to let them be. They're in love with one another."
Rika felt a little sick, but didn't want to loose last night's supper inside her belly. She went back inside her tent for a nap before setting off again to the next campsite. She slept for a good while before packing up her sleeping bag. Toshi packed up the two tents and Diana packed up the big tent.
"You should consider letting me carry that," Lloyd mewed.
"I'm good," Diana replied to her brother.
"Stop being so stubborn Diana," Lloyd added, "I can carry that and I don't want you to wipe out. Let me carry that."
Diaia growled at him.
"He's right," Mandy said, "He can carry that and I don't want you to wipe out ether."
"You keep out of this!" Diana snarled, "I can carry that!"
"She wants to help too!" Lloyd yowled, "This is getting downright silly! If you would StarMews forbid, let me or Sylvia carry that tent, we'll-"
Then Yumi heard singing, a Jigglypuff mew mew must be singing. The rest of them put on ear plugs. Lloyd and Diana were too busy growling and yelling at each other they didn't hear the singing. Then they started to feel sleepy and both of them collapsed on the ground asleep. Nita must to followed them, and Elora too.
"Thank you Nita," Yumi sighed, "We didn't know how much longer we would last if they keep fighting like this..."
Rika saw Lloyd and Diana asleep. She saw that Nita must of stop the fight by singing to them. The others took their ear plugs out.
"It's a good thing you were around Nita," Toshi sighed, "Those two were giving me a major headache..."
Soon Diana and Lloyd woke up after a short while.
"Grr.. I hate it when you do that.." Lloyd hissed at Nita.
"Hey, chill out, will you?" Elora huffed, "That fight was getting ridiculous."
Rika sighed in relief that the fighting stopped.
"If anyone is going to carry that big tent, it's going to be Sylvia.." Flow growled, "So stop acting like that and we wouldn't have any more problems Diana."
Diana finally gave in and let Sylvia carry the big tent.
They reached the next camping spot. Nairi and Sparky were fishing upstream where their first camp site was downstream. The fish were faster than the ones downstream. Rika had to help them.
"Hey, seems like you're a pro at fishing Rika," Sparky added.
"Yeah, she's been practicing a lot with her father," Nairi replied.
Rika got a decent amount of fish caught. She knew this was a good idea to help out once in a while. She brought the fish back that evening.
"Did you catch those fish?" Yumi asked.
"Rika did most of the work," Nairi replied, "She knew what to do this whole time. We're going to have a great fish fry tonight."
Sparky nodded.
"Diana, next time, let the grown ups to the-"
Diana hauled Mandy.
"I've heard enough of that and I am putting my stubbornness aside," Diana sighed.
Nairi and Sparky went over to the river again. The sun was setting and it was a good view to watch it.
"Never seen anything this pretty?" she asked Sparky.
He nodded.
"It looks better on the other side of the river," Nairi put on.
"Yeah.." Sparky replied softly, "I think we both agree this will be a fun trip after all. I didn't like what happened this morning..."
"Lloyd and Diana sometimes fight over stupid reasons," Nairi sighed, "It was a good thing Nita and Elora showed up, or things would get real ugly..."
Sparky nodded in agreement. They stayed silent till the sky was turning more orange than yellow. They sat down silently watching the sun setting further down. They start to get comfy laying down now. Nairi looked up, she noticed Sparky scooted closer to place his arm around her. She felt secure and safe when he did that. She looked at the river, stars were starting to appear from the reflection of the river. Nighttime is among them. Nairi was fully relaxed under Sparky's arm. He looked up to. The stars looked pretty.
Rika was enjoying her meal she helped earlier catching. The fish was cooked and she is now eating it. Vivian joined in with her, so did Lloyd and Flow. Toshi had the s'mores out again, from last night. It's good he has leftovers. The tents were set up once more earlier and Rika was in hers. Lloyd looked at her, feeling a little concerned about her.
"She's just homesick," Flow mewed.
"She never missed out supper, but last night with us," Lloyd replied, "I think I might get her out of the tent."
Lloyd's good nature tells him he may need to talk to her. He went inside the tent to check on Rika. He can tell she is in a homesick mood. He crawled in and purred.
"Hey, how come you didn't join us last night's supper?" he asked.
"I.. I don't know.." Rika moaned.
"Homesick much?" Lloyd asked again, "Toshi made this."
He set the s'more on her tray near her sleeping bag. Rika was watching his movement, knowing he's helping her out. She started to get playful and pounced on his Litten tail.
"Oh you little sneak," Lloyd teased, "You caught me off guard, very sneaky skill there."
Rika giggled. Then she started to feel hungry again after a little bit. She looked at the s'more and ate it. Lloyd must of put some poppy seeds in it to help her sleep. Rika felt tired and went inside her sleeping bag.
"Well, that takes care of her sleeping problem," Lloyd purred, "Flow, your sister can sleep decently now."
"What did you do?" Vivian asked.
"I put two poppy seeds in that s'more," Lloyd answered, "She ate it and now she's fast asleep."
"Clever," Flow purred, "That way she can sleep soundly. Last night was a little over whelming for her. Missing our parents and stuff."
"Well, I think it's getting late," Lloyd added, "We better get some sleep too."
"Okay, but I think I need to stay close to Rika," Vivian put in, "Just in case she asks me for anything."
Once more like last night, everyone shared a tent. Nita and Elora have a tent of their own and started to fall asleep, just like everyone else.
