Am rallied the kids the next day. Linda was about to give a speech to them.
"The nine of you will be venturing out into the woods and learn some survival skills," she said, "Am and I have prepared this day for you to see how much you will learn and use your abilities to help you protect one another and other things."
Toshi looked a little nervous about the whole thing. There were whispers among the children.
"I know some of you are quite unaware of it," Am put in, "but this is a good time to test out your survival skills."
Rika stood close to Flow and Vivian. Knowing what will happen next. Linda stepped forward.
"You will all leave this afternoon," she called out, "be sure you pack everything you need for the trip. Pack up some tents, sleeping bags and anything that is related to camping."
Rika scooted closer to Flow, and Flow hugged her younger sister.
"You're going to be fine, Rika," Flow purred, "I'll be with you..."
The others started packing what they needed for the long journey. Lloyd was getting the herbs he needs if anyone got hurt or sick. He had plastic containers to store some fragile ones in.
"All this is my idea," Sparky sighed, "and I want all of you to learn what I've learned. It could teach you all a little bit of independence, and also prepare you for in case you get stuck out in the wild. You may ask me anything that may help you out."
"You're nervous, huh?" Mandy asked Rika.
The Liepard girl was chewing her normal nails, that when in battle, they turn into claws. Lloyd noticed her doing it.
"That's a bad habit," he mewed to Rika, "Don't do that."
Rika calmed herself when Flow had her hand on her shoulder. Sparky continued his speech.
"Anyway, I'll be teaching you guys the basics like how to hunt properly or how to make a fire without burning the forest down, and then I might leave you guys alone to survive on your own while watching from a distance."
"Once the week is up, I'm sure we'll all find a way to reward you." Am smiled.
"Mm-hmm. Alright so once you guys are ready we can head out."
"You can always stay with me, Rika," Flow purred to her little sister.
Rika gulped.
"This should be a bit interesting," Diana barked, heaving her backpack on.
"Sis, how much stuff do you need?" Lloyd asked.
"Just enough to get through the week," Diana answered.
"Maybe I should go with them Am."
Toshi knew it was Sylvia, the Sylveon mew mew who his mother knew as a kid.
As the group walked further away from the base, Rika held on Vivian's hand and was very worried about what is ahead. Nairi and Sparky walked together side by side, Toshi and Yumi walked together too, so did Lloyd and Flow. Diana was having trouble with her backpack.
"You shouldn't of packed all that in there," Mandy told her.
"It's just some simple things," Diana sighed.
"How much?" Mandy asked, "Like a lot of perfect rocks?"
"Don't tease," Yumi called out.
Rika continued walking beside Vivian. Her feet felt like heavy stones. Sylvia noticed the youngest member of the group feeling a bit troubled, but encourages her to keep going. Vivian knows it will be hard, but knows when she starts to sweat she will splash some water on her to cool her down.
