Chapter 10

Nairi had a chance to be with Sparky after training that afternoon. It was evening again. Nairi felt a little cold and knew winter will be here soon.

"I'm going to let you two do your thing now," Toshi added, "I'll let Mom know that you're doing okay."

"Thanks for covering up for me," Nairi replied.

Her brother nodded and went to the base.

"Don't worry about my brother," Nairi told Sparky, "You can trust him too. He's always looking out for me. He's the oldest twin and I am just the youngest..."

Sparky looked a bit amused.

"I hope all that is better than worrying your mom," he said, "I wish I could see mine again..."

Nairi looked at him.

"You will in time, I'm sure," she replied kindly.

Sparky nodded.

"I just wish things are simple.." he sighed.

*Flashback*

He was remembering what Kenji did to his mother. Sparky leaped on top of Kenji, pinning him down to the ground.

"What have you done?!" he growled, "She didn't deserve any of this!"

"She was holding you back on what you wanted most," Kenji added, "I did this so you can have all the freedom you heart's contain."

"That didn't mean you killing my mother!" Sparky yelled at the top of his voice, "You are a heartless, psychopathic maniac with no care whatsoever! I'm done serving you Kenji. I've always wanted to do this for years!"

With a swipe of his claws, he scratched a huge notch on Kenji's left ear. The Stunky boy wailed in pain as blood sprayed the grassed covering the patch of it in red.

"Athena, Hutch, get this pathetic mongrel off me!" Kenji wailed.

Athena grabbed Sparky, tackling him for Kenji to get up. Sparky bit hard on Athena's arm, getting her to let him go.

"Leave!" Kenji growled, "I don't want anyone that stupid to be part of my gang."

"If stupid is what it takes to stand up to the likes of you, then you can consider me as an idiot," Sparky scowled, "I'm leaving all right! One day you will pay and live to regret this day forever! I will avenge my mother's death, so watch your back Kenji!"

He started to make about three foot steps, then he turned angerly to Athena and Hutch.

"That goes for you two as well," he growled, "and if I ever see one of you in my sight, I won't hesitate to kill you. Good riddance."

Hutch seemed very scared of Sparky's vile threat, but Athena showed no signs of fear and didn't care. So off Sparky went, holding back his tears. He didn't cry until he was further away from Kenji and his gang's base. 

*End of Flashback*

He shook off the memory of the death of his mother but he never forgot his sworn promise to Kenji and his gang. Nairi understood of all the pain he has went through.

"Sparky?"

Her voice startled him.

"I was thinking about what Kenji did to my mom," Sparky sighed, "I never forgot what I'll do to him if I ever see him again."

"What does he look like?" Nairi asked.

"He's a Stunky boy," Sparky answered, "It's a good thing Lloyd killed Athena, she brought suffering to me for years."
