The feeling

Chapter 1

February 6th
Salisbury, Connecticut

For weeks Meryl and Don we're struggling. Struggling to realize that something was wrong. Horribly wrong.

"Hey, don have you seen my hair brush? It's been missing for I don't know how long and I just can seem to place it" Meryl said.

"Ummm no I haven't seen it and it's not like I would use it" don laughed.

"What the hell, ok I'll just go buy another" Meryl said grabbing her keys.

" do you want me to come with?" don asked " id be happy to tag along and look for a beautiful hair brush for your beautiful hair" don joked lovingly.

Meryl laughed and patted him on the back. "You stay here and hold down the fort I'll be back in 20" Meryl kissed don and left the house.

As Meryl was looking for a brush she couldn't help but sense someone was watching her. She thought it was someone who noticed her and left it at that.

"Jesus it's freezing out there" Meryl said getting back in the car after finding a brush. She just about to put her car in reverse when she noticed a man wearing all black, watching her every move. Meryl quickly backed out of her spot and drove home to tell her husband that something wasn't right.

Don was watching tv still when Meryl got home and went to greet her. "Hey hun how was finding the perfect brush?" Don asked and than noticed her face was whiter than a ghost. He went over to her and she jumped when touched her arm.

"Oh god you scared me, I didn't even noticed you were standing there" Meryl said with big eyes.

"Sorry to scare you, it's just that you look like you've seen a ghost" don said.

Meryl looked at him and said "Something isn't right don, ever since we moved back out here to Salisbury I've had this feeling that someone was watching me. And today when I was getting a new brush I felt it and when I was leaving the store some man was watching me like a hawk and I left as soon as I could".

"Meryl" don said leading her to the table.

"don't do this don, remember last time when I said someone was watching me and it actually turned out that the person, who by the way was stalking me, was actually trying to kidnap me and take me away from you forever" Meryl said now trembling. " you don't get what that feels like. It's terrifying to think that that man could have taken me away from you, our kids, I couldn't take that." Meryl said now crying. Don went over to her and enveloped her in a hug as she cried and let out her pain from the past year.

Meryl finally dried up her tears and with the help of her husband she was finally calm and now walking around the house doing chores. As Meryl went to put her new brush in the bathroom, she walked upstairs and went into her and don's room and saw her old brush on their bed with a note. She slowly went over to the brush and grabbed the note. It said

"I saw you today, yep I saw you and you were as beautiful as ever. And I know that you saw me because you looked a little scared when you were walking around. I took this brush because I wanted a piece of you with me. And when I finally have you, you will forget about that family you have and come with me willingly.
From you know who.

Meryl felt violated and scared and ran to the bathroom to throw up the contents of her lunch.

Downstairs don was trying to think of a way to get this man out of her head. He knew what happened last year would always scare her and make her jumpy. But his Meryl was everything to him and he never wanted her to leave or be taken from him. He finally decided that he would take her into town and they would have a nice dinner, just the two of them. As he was climbing the stairs he heard her throwing up and than ran up the remaining stairs to go help her.

When Don got to the bathroom she was already standing up and going to brush her teeth. "Are you alright Mer?" Don asked as she looked at him and began to cry. "Hey it's okay, did you eat something bad?" He asked as she shook her head no. Don was about to say something when she moved away from him and walked into the bedroom and grabbed the note and gave it to don.

"What the hell is this? This is some kind of joke. How the hell did it get in the house?" Don was pacing and asking all these questions as Meryl stayed silent.

" who ever the hell this is, is going to have to go through me first before they can get to you. I can't believe this. I'm calling Greg down at the police station and telling him there's a mad man back in town" don said reaching for the phone.

"NO don't make this man more angry and try to kill you first before me. This is nuts I can't handle much more of this" Meryl said. She was trying to stay calm but just couldn't because her world is crashing down on her and she doesn't know what to do.
