Meryl had been going to Dr. Russell for about 3 weeks and she already felt like the weight was lifted off her shoulders. Don had even noticed a change in her. She was blossoming into her former self, but she did have her bad days. Today was one of those days. She had been arguing with Don all day. Nothing he did was right. And if he didn't do anything he was being lazy. He couldn't win with her today.

Don was hanging their clothes up and Meryl walked in with her hands in her hips. "You're hanging the hangers backwards."

"Sorry I'll fix it." Don said going back and flipping them all the 'right' way.

"Why can't you just let me do that? All day you've been screwing up my routine." Meryl said going over and rehanging the clothes he had already hung.

"I was just trying to help. You try to do everything on your own. Let me help." Don said taking the hanger from her.

"I don't need your help." Meryl said taking the hanger back. "Just get out of my way."

Don watched as she walked past him and went to the other end of their walk in closet. "What's your problem? I'm trying to be helpful and your just dismissing me. Did I do something to make you mad?"

"Ever since I started therapy you have been hovering over me. It's driving me insane. You breathing down my neck isn't helping me. I don't need you with me every second of every day." Meryl said walking out if the closet.

"I'm worried about you. You never talk to me anymore. You only yell at me for doing the wrong thing. You want me to stop hovering; fine I will but don't come crying to me when you have another panic attack or nightmare." Don said grabbing his shoes. "I'm done being your punching bag. I'm going out; I'll be back before your appointment."

"Don't bother. I don't need you there anyways." Meryl said slamming the bathroom door.

Don walked out the room and towards the front door. Instead of leaving he went out to his studio that was on their property. He tried to focus on his drawing but couldn't. He felt terrible for acting the way he did towards her. So she's been bitchy lately; that doesn't give him the right to be angry back. Usually he would just say sorry and leave her be. He doesn't know why he got angry with her today. She was having a bad day and he should have just let her be.

It had been a hour of him sitting and thinking. He saw that it was 3:30. Meryl's appointment is at 4. He stood up and walked over to the window and saw her walking out the house. He grabbed his phone and went out to take her to her appointment. She said she didn't want him to come, but he knew she was lying.

"Hey, you have the keys?" Don asked going to the driver side.

"Yea. I'm my hands because I'm driving myself." Meryl said walking past him. He opened the door for her and helped her in.

"Come on Meryl. You always want me to come." Don said keeping the door open.

"Not this time." Meryl said shutting the door in his face. She started the car and drove off. He watched her until he couldn't see her anymore.

"She'll regret it." Don said to himself as he walked inside.

Meryl was driving into town to her therapists office. She doesn't know why she acted the way she did at home. She just woke up angry with the world, and Don was the only person around that she could yell at. He had been so loving and helpful the last few weeks. She told him to stay home because she just wanted to be alone. To put herself back together before she goes home. She pulled up and checked her phone. Nothing. She wasn't surprised that he didn't text or call. She didn't blame him at all. She blamed herself.
