"Morning gorgeous." Justin smiled as he walked up to me while dressed in a black suit.
"Good morning." I mumbled tiredly as I laid on the bed.
"I'm on my way to work so I'll see you later." Justin explained as he straightened out his tie.
"I miss you already." I mumbled.
Justin smiled. "That's why you should come work at the company."
"Nope. I'll stick with the travel agency." I laughed.
Justin smiled and kissed me. "Not for long."
As soon as Justin left for work, I walked over to the bathroom and got in the shower. As I showered, I began to stare at the shower wall.
Ella's imagination:
"You really think I can do this Eva?" My father asked as he sat on a couch with her.
Eva was my father's childhood best friend. My mother hated her and no one knew why, but my father didn't care.
"Yes! Most definitely. Just think about it Jamar. Imagine how successful you'll be if you turn this plant into a facial product and have it sold in stores world wide." Eva explained.
"I don't know... I don't want to get laughed at and turned down."
"I'm sorry, are you really doubting yourself right now Jamar Blaine? What's that thing you always
say—""Don't let your doubts stop you from huge achievements." My father laughed.
"Exactly, you got this." Eva assured.
"By the way, where's Linda anyway?" She added.
"She's at work."
"Where does she work?"
"She says she's a nurse but I doubt it. She's probably somewhere sniffing cocaine, as usual."
"Mmm–okay. So...are you and her still on bad terms?"
"Our marriage is a joke and you know that. Linda always brings the worse out of me."
Eva nodded her head in agreement.
"If I could kick her out of this house, I would." My father added.
"Why don't you?"
"She's the mother of my daughter Eva, you know that."
"So? Linda doesn't make this home a happy home for Ella. Just let her go."
"I don't make this home a happy home either and it's not that easy."
"Why?" Eva asked.
My father looked Eva in her eyes.
"You still love Linda don't you?" Eva huffed.
"Eva—"
"No Jamar. How do you still love her when she's a fucking dirty ass drug addict, you both cheat on each other, you both argue all the time, oh and let's not forget that you always beat her—"
"Because! Because—I'm trying to be a better man Eva. You don't have to remind me about my past mistakes."
"Those are not past mistakes Jamar, you haven't changed. You won't change until you let Linda go, for good."
My father sighed.
"But—I have to go to work now, so call me tomorrow and let me know what happens with the plant proposal."
"I will."
The next day:
"Eva, I told you I didn't want to go to that fancy ass company and present my idea. They turned me down and laughed at me! I'll never be anything more than a janitor for that company." My father fumed, while on the phone.
Reality:
"BOOOOM!"
I gasped as I stopped staring at the wall.
What was that sound?
I quickly got out of the shower, wrapped my body in a towel, and walked over to the living room where I saw the front door....wide open and a brown box on the coffee table.
I got really freaked out so I grabbed my phone and called Justin.
Justin told me to call the cops, while he drove back home to me.
