It's been fourteen days since Justin got into a car accident. It's been fourteen days since Justin spoke. It's been fourteen whole days since Justin opened his eyes, since he's been able to talk, walk, even smile.

"Ms. Blaine, you should go home and get some rest." A nurse insisted as she walked into Justin's hospital room.

"I'm fine here. I'm not leaving him alone." I assured.

"—Okay. Is there anything I can get you? Maybe some coffee? Or something to eat?"

"No thank you, I'm not hungry."

The nurse nodded her head and walked out of the room as I held Justin's hand while I sat on a hard, uncomfortable, blue brown chair besides him.

  Momentarily, I fell asleep.

Ella's imagination:

As I walked home from my middle school with Raiden, I noticed many police officers and an ambulance near the lake by the rail road.

"I wonder what happened over there." I said as Raiden and I walked down the side walk.

Raiden shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe someone died."

"Don't say that! —I hope that isn't what actually happened."

"Make sure you kids get home quickly, police officers are about to fill this place up!" An officer said loudly as he walked up to us.

Raiden and I nodded our heads in worrisome. Then, Raiden grabbed my hand and began to walk faster.

"Justin, please stand back!" An officer shouted.

"He's gone!" Justin cried as he dropped to the ground.

"Ella we have to hurry home now!" Raiden commanded as he began to run while still holding my hand.

Suddenly, Justin turned around and looked at me as he continued to cry.

"Raiden wait." I commanded as I removed my hand away from his hand.

I looked into Justin's eyes as he weeped while standing next to the lake.

Mr. Smith then helped Justin up from the floor and walked over to their car but Justin didn't stop staring into my eyes, not until he sat in the backseat of the car.

Reality:

I gasped as I thought Justin's hand moved.

I then went back to sleep after.

Imagination:

"You knew Justin this whole time." Someone said as they walked over to me and stood right besides me.

I looked away from Justin in the car and faced the person as I began to cry.

Jason, Justin's twin brother was standing right next to me.
I could tell them apart because Jason has a small birth mark on his right cheek that is shaped like a heart.

"It's okay, you don't have to cry." Jason grinned as he wiped my tears away with his hand.

Jason and I then watched his dead body be put into an ambulance.

Jason shook his head in disappointment. "That was the worse day of my life. —Drowning in the lake felt like torture."

"My whole life felt like torture." He added as we then watched Justin and his parents drive away from the scene.

"—My brother—loves you so much." Jason smiled as he faced me again.

"Just—don't let him go." He advised as I looked him in his eyes.

"Because people don't always find change in human form." Jason smiled.

"I loved that poem by the way. —I never forgot about it." He added before he walked away and disappeared.

Reality:

I gasped as I felt Justin's hand moving in my hand so I instantly woke up.

My eyes widened.

"I have to call a nurse." I whispered to myself as I tried to let go of his hand.

Justin held on to my hand with all of the strength that he had, so I turned around and faced him as he slowly opened his eyes.

"Stay." Justin whispered in pain.

I cried as I nodded my head and hugged him gently. "You're okay."

"You're really okay." I added.
