Later on, Justin and I went to sleep... but I could barely close my eyes throughout the night!
Instead, I just kept thinking about the news that broke out about my mother and I.Around three in the morning, I got out of bed to get a drink of water in the kitchen.
After doing so, I walked over to the living room and sat on the couch.
Momentarily, I fell asleep.
POV Justin:
In the morning, Ella wasn't sleeping next to me so I got out of bed and walked over to the living room where I saw her sleeping on our couch.
Instead of waking her up, I got dressed for the day and left because she looked so tired.
POV ELLA:
Ella's imagination:
My grandmother walked over to me in the living room and sat beside me on the couch.
"Grandma?" I said as I looked at her.
She didn't face me.
"Come see me today honey." She said.
"And take a pregnancy test." She added.
She then stood up from the couch and disappeared.
Reality:
I woke up from my sleep and panicked.
I then walked over to the bedroom to wake up Justin but he wasn't on the bed so I checked my phone.
Justin texted me, "Good morning, I didn't want to wake you up because you look tired but I left to go handle some things so I'll see you later. I love you."
I took a shower and got dressed. After doing so, I walked into my bathroom and took a pregnancy test that I had...
I then placed it on the bathroom counter instead of looking at the results. After, I left home and drove to my grandmother's house.I haven't seen her in years...
When I arrived to her house, I got out of my car and walked up to her porch where I saw her sitting on a rocking chair while reading a book.
"Ella Blaine." My grandmother smiled as she looked up at me and closed her book.
"Hi grandma." I smiled as kissed her on her cheek and sat down on a chair besides her.
"It's been a long time." My grandmother smiled as she shook her head.
"I know."
"You look exactly like Linda."
I beamed as I looked away from my grandmother and began to watch her wind chime make sounds while the trees on her front yard blew in the wind.
"You look exactly like Linda... but you aren't her." My grandmother added.
I faced her again.
"I raised your mother, hoping that she would make the best of her life, but she didn't. —Everything that I taught her went in one ear and out the other.
—She hurt a lot of people and she made many mistakes. — I never got the chance to forgive her and let go, but many people didn't either.... It was like—every time someone grew hatred for her, they killed her spiritually a little more without her knowing." My grandmother explained.
