Chris POV
I've never seen Eyeball so happy in his life, I didn't know someone had such an effect on him. I definitely would have never guessed Denny Lachance to have that effect on him either.
"Kissing Denny was the best decision I ever made, I knew I loved him and from the kiss, I knew he loved me. Which being a Chambers kid all I had ever wanted was to be loved by someone and Denny was that someone.", Eyeball finished up.
I still had Gordie in my lap, I could tell he was interested in the story.
"That's beautiful Eyeball", Gordie said then smiled to himself,"I would never have thought I would ever say those words to you."
"In all honesty, I never thought I would tell anybody this story let alone you two.", Eyeball told us after Gordie's remark.
Gordie then jumps off of my lap and jumped into Eyeball's to give him a hug,"I hope you know that Chris and I will always be here for you. Even if you just wanna talk about Denny, I will always be more than happy to hear. He didn't spend time with me a lot right before he died, I mean we would go fishing every once in a while but most of the time he was out. Now I know he was with you."
Eyeball hugged him back,"And whenever you wanna talk about Denny to me or have questions about him I'll always be there."
Gordie gave him one quicker hugged then sat back down in my lap.
"You guys are really cute", Eyeball told us as I wrapped my arms around his waist.
I smiled at him, but Gordie started to talk to him,"I bet you and Denny were just as cute, but if you don't mind me asking, did you and Denny break up before he died?"
Eyeball looked like he was about to cry from Gordie's statement,"Well Gordie, we never broke up. But because of my stupid mistake, Denny got killed."
I could see a clear liquid make its way out of Eyeballs eye and roll down his face.
"Hey it's not you fault Eyeball, you didn't kill Denny. He got into a car accident, its nobody's fault.", Gordie said climbing out of my lap once again to comfort Eyeball. Why did Gordie have to be such a great person?
"Thanks, Gordie, your a lot like your brother you know that?", Eyeball told Gordie.
I liked that they were bonding, but in honesty, I wish Gordie wouldn't sit on his lap and hug him. I understand that it was hard for him to hug him without it being weird, but I wish Gordie was sitting in my lap.
"You wanna talk about it Eyeball? I'll listen, and I know damn well Chris will too." Gordie then stopped looked in his lap then back up," Plus Eyeball, I would really appreciate it if you told me about Denny. You know him better than anybody else, I want you to tell me."
Eyeball had mad a small smile at Gordie,"I'll tell you, but if I do you both have to promise me something. You guys have to promise to act like you aren't together, you have to make this whole town believe that Chris and Gordie are no more."
When Eyeball said this Gordie looked at me, back at Eyeball, then back at me.
I knew he wanted my permission, so I grabbed him by his waist and pulled him onto my lap,"Fine, but Gordie has to stay on my lap for the rest of this conversation.",Then I looked at Eyeball,"And you have to help us, that means driving me here at night or taking us to a different town so we could hang. We need your help."
"I can do that, but I mean it. No more Chris and Gordie.", Eyeball said trying to make it clear as if it weren't clear enough.
We both nodded our heads in a union, but because we agreed I might have just help Gordie a little tighter in that moment.
