Chapter Thirty Five

Author's POV

Ellesmere opened her eyes partially, there were bits of light shining into her face but when she opened them fully, she realized that the light was actually a white wall. She looked around, she was sitting on the floor with a man's arms wrapped around her back. Everything became a blur again and again until her vision cleared.

"I think she needs rest! "A lady said. "Get her some orange juice" another contributed. "Poor thing just slumped on the floor!" "She probably has a heart problem! Lift her head up, she's bleeding from her forehead! ".

Ellesmere couldn't tell how many people spoke at the same time. "Elles, are you alright? "a deep familiar voice asked. She looked up at who had spoken, it was Thor. Everyone looked panicked but Thor seemed calm and collected, the situation didn't seem to have any effect on him.

"What happened to you? "He asked again but she just stared at him wide eyed. His fingers traced near her ear then he tucked a strand of hair behind it.

"I don't know! Where's Jane?" She asked taking hold of Thor's jacket for support as she lifted herself up. The onlookers were just patients who had gathered around for the sake of gathering around. A nurse with a first aid kit came and knelt down beside her.

"Hello, Sir, Ma'am." She began, "Please allow me to treat your head wound and after that, the lady has to come with me for a little check up. Is that okay with you? "

Thor nodded then aided Elles to stand but she slumped again. "You sure you can stand? "He asked.
"You mean, i'm not? "She asked back and he smiled a little. A wheelchair was brought to help move her into a room where she'd be checked.

The nurse cleaned up her injury then put a little white band-aid on her forehead. She took blood samples for test and checked her blood pressure.

"Have you ever being pregnant before ma'am?" The nurse asked as she took down some notes.

"No, I haven't! "Elles replied. Thor had his hand wrapped in hers. She knew he knew she was his daughter now so she felt more comfortable with it, although they hadn't talked about it yet.

"Is this the first time you've fainted?" The nurse asked again looking at Thor in a funny manner. Elles knew it was hard for a lady to keep herself composed when around Thor. She knew the effect he had on a lot of ladies but she knew it was unintentional. He wasn't such a man. She kinda secretly enjoyed watching the nurse take quick glances at Thor. He was a hunk and the nurse was definitely checking him out.

"No! " she answered trying to bite back a naughty smile.

"May I ask what the cause of the other fainting incidents was? "

"Uh, fatigue, I guess! "She said not wanting to say the real reasons.

"Have you ever had a healthy sleep of say, five to eight hours? "

"I don't think so. "

"Do you work late night jobs? "

"Uh Uhn! "She said getting really agitated with every question the nurse asked.

"Please get up ma'am! "She asked, Elles stood up then walked to the middle of the room.

"Stretch your hands out and walk towards me!" The nurse instructed and walked to stand opposite Elles but at a reasonable distance. "Try not to sway too much! "

Elles walked slowly with her hands stretched out towards the nurse and locked her hands in the nurse's outstretched ones. "That's good! "She said going back to pen down the results while Elles went to sit next to Thor.

"Okay, I think that's all for now." The nurse said putting down her note and pen. Elles knew the nurse didn't want the session to end. "You need to rest ma'am. Your system is really tired."

"Thank you Miss uhhhh. . ."Thor said and the nurse put on a polite smile.

"Perry. Ginnifer Perry! "She said.

"Thank you Miss Perry! "Thor nodded then pulled Elles up as they both walked out of the room. While outside the room, Elles snickered naughtily.

"What is it?" Thor asked raising an eyebrow.

"Capisci, che balia letteralmente sbavare finito vi, diritto? (You know, that nurse literally drooled over you, right?). tipo, avere a cuore ed essere brutto perché un tempo ed magro le signori a infarto del miocardio! (Dude, have a heart and be ugly for once and spare the ladies a heart attack) "She said laughing by now.

Thor made a face, "What is with you and Jane and using that language anyway? "

"I'd speak English if I wanted you to know what I was saying right? " Thor nodded "exactly!".

"So there, I don't want you to know what i'm saying! "

"Then why say anything when you know i'll ask questions?"

"I just felt like it! Please don't tell Jane I blacked out. Dad!! "

Thor turned to look at her then nodded slowly.

"I'm sorry I didn't say anything to you. I wanted to but Jane wouldn't let me. I had to keep shut over a lot of stuff!" she said as the walked towards the elevator.

"I know that. And I should thank you for keeping me safe always. It must have been hard for you, protecting someone who had no idea who you are and who you're not so sure would accept you should they find out the truth. "He said putting his hand over her shoulder.

"I was sure you'd accept me. I'm awesome! "She said and he laughed whilst pulling her into a hug.

"I think Stark has a negative effect on you! "He said as she looked up at him still snuggled in his arms.

"I'm pretty sure it's the other way round!" She said smiling childishly.

"I don't think so! "He said and the elevator dinged as the doors opened. Jane stood at the other side and an affectionate smile overcame her face as she saw Thor and Elles close together in a father daughter hug.

She walked into the elevator and cleared her throat while the two watched her amusingly.

She looked from the corner of her eye and got the message, "fregare gli da mi ed vi anderó pentirsi ele! (steal him from me and you'll regret it) "

Just then, Elles released Thor and they all laughed as the elevator door closed back again.
