Hi readers. A quick FYI, things are gonna be taking drastic turns from here on out so buckle up and hold on for your dear lives. Okay, that's just me being stupid, have a blast.
Ellesmere's POV
Taking me into the Tower was a very big step in saving my father. I hadn't seen him in three years. The last time i saw him, was from a far distance. The only Avengers who always hunted me down were mostly Widow, Barton, Captain ,Vision and Wanda.
I called Anne to find out how she was doing. She had gone to Wisconsin as i'd told her to. I asked her to help reach my mom and tell her i was okay. I explained everything to Anne leaving out the part where i was a practically a prisoner of the Avengers.
If she knew about it, she'd definitely tell my mom and they'd both freak out. Big time!.
Mom wouldn't want me this close to my dad. She always said something about the "reflection causing chaos and doom's call".
I always laughed it off, of course, Mostly because i had no idea what it meant. Her study of the convergence made her think odd about stuff but i still loved her anyway. I also asked Anne to stay safe and hidden. Those circus freaks calling themselves aliens could try to look for her to get to me and then dad.
But then why were they after my dad? What had he stolen from them? If only i could ask him.
I showered and changed into a blue top and Blue Jeans i found in the closet. They were new, i could tell. There was no dress and they were having a party. Should i go?.
I was invited anyway but i guessed only Steve would be okay with it or he was just pretending to keep an eye on me.
So many questions, Ellesmere. I said to myself then took off the blue top for a grey one with sleeves. I loved sleeves, they made me feel comfortable and helped keep me warm when cold currents flowed through my arms.
The Jeans were okay but i had no boots. Only a pair of blue rubber slippers. Nice work, Natalia!!
I rolled my hair into a nice bun too. Chignon mi amor!!
I opened the door slowly, then peeked out . There was no one in the hallway but i could hear voices echoing from downstairs and laughter too. I couldn't recall the way back downstairs so i just followed the sounds.
Twelve long flight of stairs led me to another hallway. The voices came from a room with no door. It was already past 8 o'clock so i was probably late for the party and without shoes. The floor was comfortably cold . Soft music played and i heard clanking of glasses.
Did the Avengers do this every night when they were not saving the world?
I tip toed towards the room with my back stuck to the wall then peeked in. The room was beautiful and full of people. It was glassy too like every other place in the Tower. Stairs connected every part of the Tower together with cream coloured couches arranged in circles in different places. Tables held several wine bottles and glasses.
The Avengers looked casual. No super hero uniforms, no spandex and no gadgets. They almost looked like a big family to me. They were scattered all around the room in twos, fours and fives -My eyes clocked from one group to the other.
At the bar, Natasha leaned against a stool in a beautiful black dress laughing at something Clint had said. He sat opposite her in a black sleeve and jacket and faded jeans.
On the largest couch, Banner, Steve, Tony and two guys i didn't recognize talked and laughed. Hanging upside down from a staircase was Peter trying to demonstrate something to Vision who i guessed had no idea what he was saying.
Sam, Wanda and two other girls i also didn't know were clanking their glasses in cheer.
I found myself smiling at each group. There was some aura of peace around them and understanding. Maybe they weren't so bad after all. I thought.
But there was someone missing. I looked quickly though the room scanning each group of elderly men all over again but he wasn't amongst them. I could feel my heart racing wildly. Calm down, Elles. He's somewhere around here, I told myself.
I took three steps into the room, then unknowingly knocked down a large jar. It fell with a piercing crash and immediately, all eyes turned towards me as the room fell silent.
Steve stood up just then, "It's alright. I asked her to come down. ". Captain America to the rescue.
Some eyes averted but some still remained like Maria Hill's. I didn't even know she was here. She looked straight at me. Daggers!!
The room returned to its normal state. Peter and Steve walked up to me. Peter chuckled as soon as they came close.
"What's so funny?" I asked with a straight face. That didn't make him stop as he eventually ended up laughing.
"Where are your shoes?" Steve asked looking down at my feet with a lovely smile on his face.
"Exactly!!" Peter said then stopped laughing almost immediately, he tilted his head towards the balcony, i think his spidey sense tingled.
"what is it?" Steve asked looking outside as well. I turned my right ear towards outside then i heard a very faint whizzing sound like an object flying quickly through the air. Then i spotted him outside, standing on the wide balcony, his black coat flowing from the breeze. Oh no!!.
"Bomb!!" I screamed running outside and pushing my way through the cluster of people. I sent a rigid charge to my bare legs then took a very high leap in front of him just in time and caught the bomb.
In a nanosecond, it exploded and sent me flying back inside the room with a loud crash. There was a buzzing sound in my ear, i could also hear screaming, gasping, gunshots and heavy breathing.
Something warm tickled my tummy. I touched it then realized it was blood. I tried lifting my head to look down at my injury but my legs trembled. My back ached, my head felt light and felt totally numb but there was so much pain. The room began to spin, the last thing i saw was Barton running towards me then i blacked out.
