Chapter Thirty Two

Author's POV

Current and Parker ran further and further into the tunnel, even past where they had seen the Orb with the lights from his suit illuminating the way. They had already began breathing heavily when Parker stopped and turned.

"If they're here, what do we do now? Keep running until we get lost? "He asked.

"If they're here for this then I gotta make sure they don't get it. We have to sneak this someplace else. Maybe when Steve and the others arrive, they'll keep them distracted enough for us to. . ."

She was interrupted by a really loud thud, tiny bits of rock fell ontop of them. The thud was right above them. Then a familiar roar tore through the cave.

"Uh oh!! Run!! "She yelled as she realized who it was, they both ran as fast as they could with Elles resisting the urge to use her sonic speed and leave Peter behind. The heavy sound of footsteps running in the same direction above them made the grounds unsteady.

Soon, an avalanche of rocks came crashing down in front of them. They both fell backwards at the impact. A huge wave of dust covered the place causing them to cough. The blurry green skin of the Hulk filled their vision as he roared endlessly.

"Look! His eyes! He's been compromised again! I don't think he'll know who we are! "Current said as she and Peter backed up looking at Hulk's jet black eyes.

The Hulk attacked with both hands, smashing everything in his way as the duo struggled and tumbled to stay away from him. The Orb rolled out of Ellesmere's grip just as Peter rushed to push her away from Hulk who had jumped really high aiming to smash her to pieces. By this time, the cave had obtained a wide opening from above. They could see the fight going on outside.

Widow and Clint fought off thousands of aliens and soldiers as they could, holding them off until the others arrived.

The Orb had rolled off and was behind Hulk who was stopping them from reaching it. Elles suddenly remembered her Frisbees, she took out six of them then skillfully threw them at the Hulk. Each one landed on different parts of his body shocking him but not to unconsciousness, he was way too big. It only distracted him for a while as he tried pulling them off.

Elles crawled behind him with Peter following, as soon as she picked up the Orb, they both catapulted out of the cave. But it wasn't such a nice view outside because the fight was just as hot on the surface.

Soon, floods of helicopters arrived the place surrounding the area like a bunch of flies. Smaller drones were released from them as they shot at the aliens killing them.

A familiar whirring sound came through the air. The Iron Legion had arrived as well and the War Machine too. The fight was packed.

From one end to another, the Avengers battled the aliens in the wake of the morning.

"Elles, you get the Orb to safety!" Widow yelled at her from where she had both her legs wrapped tightly around a soldier's neck suffocating him.

Spiderman joined in the fight, throwing webs and detonators at the enemy. He threw one of those tiny bombs at four aliens, a large ray of purple light forming a kind of ball covered them, then it blasted into tiny bits gluing the aliens to a nearby boulder.

"That is so amazing. Hey, did anyone see that? "He asked jumping up in excitement as he pointed at the aliens struggling to free themselves. Just then, an alien pounced on him sending both of them tumbling down a slope.

"That's what you get from talking too much in a fight! "Steve commented as he knocked out a few aliens out with his cement like fists and Vibranium shield.
