Part 44: Different

A month had passed since Yoongi started to act differently around Jimin.

He had grown more distant in some ways but the same in others and it was driving Jimin insane.

Yoongi still asked questions and showed interest but when it came to closeness he was more distant.

He even mentioned getting another bed to Jimin one day.

Jimin didn't know why but it hurt him really badly.

Yoongi was rarely the first to initiate affection but he slowly started to do it more but then it stopped again suddenly.

All affection stopped.

If Jimin got close to him he would tense up and casual conversations got uncomfortable.

Jimin hated it.

Jimin had phoned SeokJin complaining a few times and he said he'd speak to Yoongi but every time it ended with the same thing of getting no where so the next time Jimin phoned Jin told him he should confront Yoongi and tell him how he feels.

Yoongi had told Jin what was going on however and he didn't want to out either of his friends so he just encouraged Yoongi to talk to Jimin but when that was going no where he knew he needed another approach.

So what could be a better situation than to send the cause to confront the problem?

Yoongi was sat in front of the island in the kitchen getting work done when Jimin left the bedroom after being on call to Jin.

Yoongi didn't even turn around when he asked "Everything okay?" trying his best to show an interest but not to be to interested.

He wanted to trick himself into thinking he didn't care as much as he did.

But the moment Jimin said "No, not really..." In a voice which sounded beyond broken Yoongi couldn't help but drop everything he was doing and turned to the boy.

His heart broke when he saw Jimin's puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks but he froze not knowing what to do.

He wanted to hug him and comfort him but at the same time he felt like he needed to keep his distance.

Jimin choked on a sob he was holding back and he couldn't fight back his tears anymore.

All his built up emotions erupted and all he wanted in that moment was to cry and have Yoongi with him to make him feel better.

When Yoongi froze that hurt him making him think he had done something wrong when he hadn't.

Yoongi was just trying to protect him but it ended up making him more hurt.

Jimin stepped back and turned away with only one thought being left in his mind.

'Hide.'

So he did, he ran away into the bedroom and hid inside the closet.

Yoongi looked to his phone which Jimin had abandoned then back to the door the hybrid ran through, crouching and pulling at his hair as he thought.

'He needs me so what the hell am I doing here frozen, I want to be there so why can't I?'

He slowly got up as he felt a knot form in his throat as he looked at the door trying to think logically about what was happening and how to help.

Jimin was very emotional in general which Yoongi knew but he wouldn't cry like that for nothing.

He needed to find Jimin and find the problem out so he could fix it.

Jimin was a cat hybrid which meant he'd go and hide more than likely since he wasn't the type to attack.

Yoongi entered the bedroom and looked around it calling for Jimin but got nothing in response so he looked around thinking logically, Jimin wouldn't be in the bathroom so that only meant the closet.

Yoongi went to the door and knocked first so Jimin knew he was going in and entered.

He called out Jimin's name again softly, closing the door behind him as he entered the dark room.

He didn't want to stress Jimin out so left the light off as he guessed his way around the room.

He moved towards the sound of sniffles and shuffling until he assumed he'd found Jimin considering all noise froze.

"Jiminie, I know you here. Please come out and tell me whats wrong?" Yoongi whispered so the noise wasn't too sudden.

He heard another sniffle from near his feet so crouched down and sat on the floor.

"Jiminie you can talk to me." Yoongi carried on saying as he felt around him to see if he could figure out where Jimin was.

Jimin didn't say anything as another choked sob escaped his lips with the sudden sound of movement.

In response Yoongi shot up and reached forward, somehow capturing Jimin's arm and pulled him to his chest.

Jimin tried to pull away not wanting to cave fully into the overwhelming feeling of crying but Yoongi held onto him tightly not letting go trapping Jimin in his surprisingly muscular arms.

"I'm not letting go of you Jiminie... Tell me what's wrong so I can fix it..."
