I want to be like water. I want to slip through fingers, but hold up a ship.

"Shawn. I'm going, and you are coming with me."
"You aren't going anywhere babe."
"Just because you are calling me 'babe' doesn't mean that's gonna make me change my mind." I cross my arms as I finish putting my left shoe on my foot.
I want to go to work; my old work. But Shawn just doesn't let me do so.
"I want to be able to make money myself and not live on someone else's. I can't just sit here and do nothing." I say frustrated. It's just ridiculous!
He didn't seem to care so he just takes a seat on the couch relaxing while I am standing here looking at him with my eyebrows raised. He places his hands up behind his head and closes his eyes. The next time he opens them he finds me there in front of him.
"Rose. You are not a big deal here. It's really nothing for us to have one more person in the house to live with us-" I hold my hand up pointing two fingers in the air. "-well, two people in the house. We are totally fine with you and your sister."
"I am not. I am not comfortable at all. And I totally disagree with you. Now can you please drive me to work." I let out a big sigh.
He scoots down and makes himself even more comfortable closing his eyes. "Nope."
"Pleaseeee." I stick out my bottom lip thinking that he might see me with his eyes closed.
"Nah-huh." Shawn shakes his head and I know I've had enough.
"Fine. I'm gonna walk there." I tell him and his eyes come right open. I grin.
"Yeah... Sure." He chuckles thinking that I am just joking around and closes his eyes again. I start walking away but Shawn isn't even bothered, so I keep walking till I het to the front door.
I'm so evil. Mwahahah.
I open the door but don't step outside, instead I stay inside. I pretend that I went outside just to see what Shawn is going to do if I walk by myself. I secretly hide behind a closet door and stay there quietly.
"Rose..." He groans. "Stop playing..." I chuckle inside of me. I can hear him stand off the couch and then stopping. "What the heck? Did she really left?" I hear him saying that and it makes me so much effort to keep all the laugher inside of me. I can hear his footsteps walking really fast to the kitchen, grabbing his keys from the counter and running around for something else. I smile to myself.
"Come on Shawn. Think!-" I hear him say to himself and my eyebrows furrow together. What is he thinking of? "-What did I forget?" His voice is frustrated and I bet he is running his hands through his hair.
I step out of my hiding place and smile widely.
"You forgot me." I say innocently just to see his face turn in my direction. The expression on his face is indescribable. He runs up to me and wraps his arms around me taking me by surprise. His strong smell surrounds me, making me hold onto him even tighter. He is strong but soft in the same time as if his body fits perfectly by hugging mine. The whole moment is just so wanted that I don't even bother to say anything than hug him.
His phone starts going off.
Ugh... and there goes our perfect moment. I mentally groan but he doesn't even bother to pick it up.
"Shawn..." I say quietly trying to let go of him but he tightens the grip instead. "Your phone is ringing." I continued.
"I don't care." He whispers and I smile like crazy as butterflies erupt in my stomach.

"So you and Shawn huh?" Madison leans over the counter as she rests her head in the palm of her hand. I roll my eyes playfully. "I gotta admit though. I'm happy for you." She smiles kindly as I shift in my stool looking at the clock; waiting for Shawn.
I practically won and got him to drive me to work, now it's about eight o'clock; the time he told me he would be here.
"Thank you Madison. You're the nicest person." I smile kindly standing up from my stool. "Shawn is gonna be here in any minute so I should probably go wait outside."
"Of course! It was nice seeing you; hopefully I'll get to see you more often." She waives her hand at me as I open the front door stepping outside. A warm breeze suddenly surrounds me and I look up at the beautiful sunset.
I take a step further in the street and look from one side to another, stoping as my eyes land on the street that I used to walk on so many times. The path that leads to our long last apartment that I lived half of my life in. It's like a memory in my head that I will never be able to erase. I grew up in that apartment; that's where my mother's last day to live was.
I fin myself smiling sadly as I start walking on that same street, heading towards the apartment.
Suddenly Shawn's last words ring in my head.
My memory plays back to a few hours before.
I stepped out of the car and so did Shawn coming towards me to give me a one last hug.
"Wait for me here, okay? I'll be here at eight." He grabbed my hand and looked closely at me as I nodded my head.
"And don't go anywhere. I don't want something bad happening to you, okay?" I smiled at his worried face. I just wanted to take his face in my hands and kiss him so bad. His eyes were so shining that I could see my own reflection in them, if I looked closely.
"Okay."
I keep in mind what Shawn told me but my heart is dragging me to my old place. I look back one last time to make sure Shawn didn't arrive yet and keep on walking.
I mean it's gonna be fast, plus I've been here so many times, nothing bad ever happened to me. Shawn has nothing to worry about.
As I take a left turn I keep walking between the buildings till something catches my eyes.
A puppy.
It's stuck under a fence. My heart brakes a little as I see him struggling. How can I not help him? He is so innocent and so helpless.
I stop there and walk where the puppy is and help him get out of the fence. His collar belt was apparently stuck between the fence and I just had to pull it down to make him free. Aw, this dog is so cute!
After I bent down to the little cuteness and help him I stand up and fixed myself.
Turning around I see a group of three guys standing a few steps away from me. I take a quick sharp breath and pretend that they are not even there.
You need to get back; forget out the apartment for now Rose.
I start walking past them hoping that nothing will happen. They eye me carefully as I try to swallow the lump in my throat. I look down at my shoes trying to ignore them, but apparently that doesn't working.
"Going somewhere sweetheart?" One of the three guys steps in front of me, making me back up a little and hit my back in another's guy chest. They are making a circle around me. I look at their faces while panic rushes through me.
"Yes, I'm actually going somewhere. Now if you'll excuse me." I say trying to push them aside.
"Not so fast." One of them says grabbing my arm and pushing me back into the circle. My heart races so fast making my brain not function the right way.
One of the guys hand grabs my butt and that's when I start freaking out. Another tries to kiss me and other touching me but I kick and yelled.
"G-get off me!" I struggle saying between my heavy breathing. I should have listened to Shawn. I should have not left the place.
"HELP!" I scream as I feel my shirt being ripped a little bit.
"Shawn!"I yell to my only hope.
