We keep this love in this photograph
We made these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
Our hearts were never broken
Times forever frozen still
-Ed Sheeran~~~
I tilt my head upwards and look at the clock. Forty minutes are still on the run for me so I calmly shrug not worrying that I would be late to Shawn's date.
I go into the small kitchen of our dorm, find an apple, and take it with me. Walking back to my bed I take a big bite out of it. A little healthy snack is never a bad idea, right?
Emily, who is sitting on her bed, looks up at me from her text book. A dirty look comes upon her face and a small finger of hers is held up in the air. "Hold up!" She cries out loud. My eyes widen and I freeze like a statue; the little not chewed piece of apple is still in my mouth.
"Turn around." She moves her hand in a circle motion. From her expression I can tell that this is not gonna be pretty.
"Is that-" Terrified I swallow the little piece of apple. "-how you are going on your FIRST date?!"
I shrug looking down at my outfit. "What's wrong with what I am wearing?" I mumble taking another bite of my apple. I personally think that my outfit looks fine. What's so bad about wearing some jeans with black cardigan and a white shirt under it?
"And what in the world is that?" She points to my hair which is put up in a messy bun. It looks cute. "Looks like a bird just made a nest on top of your head."
Ever wonder how to make my life miserable? Simple. You just do what she just did.
"Emily!" I yell her name, disappointed at how rude she is being. She is usually not like this. She shakes her head and gets off her bed taking a chair and bringing it behind me. With her small body she stretches on her tippy toes and examines me closely.
"Sweet mother of- oh please give strength to guide this child on the right path." I raise an eyebrow at her and she gives me a fake smile. "Sit down." Again, I do as I am told. In a second she manages to take my bun out and fluffy my hair around.
Minutes pass and all I know is that I am being turned, switched around, told to look up, look down, and basically be a robot listening to all of my orders.
"Now open your eyes." She says after applying who knows what on my eyelids. "Perfect." Is the word she says before disappearing. I run my hand through the loose curls that she has put some effort into making and smile to myself.
"Put this on." She hands me something after she comes back.
"But-"
"I said. Put. It. On." I sigh out loud exaggerating my struggles and change into the maroon colored dress. It's soft and really light, it stops mid-thigh, and the design is made to naturally hug my body in a cute way. My hair falls over my shoulders, covering them and I had put on a pair of black boots.
Emily puts her hands over her mouth and looks at me like she has seen the cutest puppy. She quickly grasps my shoulders and turns me around, pushing me into the bathroom.
I gasp at my reflection. "How-What in the world did you do?"
Emily giggles. "It's called makeup. And that is a smoky-eye."
"It's beautiful." It truly is. I've never worn any make up before. I move my head closer to the mirror and examine my face. It's not real, but it's pretty.
"You are beautiful. Now come on! What time is it?" She leaves the bathroom then comes back with a worried expression. "It's already five."
"What?!" I panic and she quickly hands me a little coat that matches the dress and drags me out of the bathroom.
