Doing the right thing for someone else occasionally means doing something that feels wrong to you.-Jodi Picoult

Opening the door I peak inside the room full of unopened boxes. "Hello?" I step inside and take a look at the room that I would be spending four years in.
There are two beds settled at each side of the wall. The bed on the far right has a medium sized window above it.
"Hey." A voice behind me says as I am sitting on the bed that had the window above it. I turn around just to see a short blond girl standing in front of the doorway.
"Emily?" I jump up. "Oh how glad I am to have you as my roomate!" I scream and hug her.
"Me too Rose! This is such a relief! I missed you!"
"I missed you too!"
"By the way, sorry for this mess. It's just Cameron helped me carry all of these boxes here and he left really fast so he won't get in trouble." She mumbles really quick and I freeze.
"He goes here?"
"Yeah, my baby has has two more years to go." She smiles. Now that I thought about it, Cameron is twenty years old, the oldest from everyone else. Well, that makes sense.
I nod my head and then clap my hands together. "Ready to get some work done here, my lovely roommate?" And we both laugh staring to unpack everything up and settle everything to its place. Honestly knowing that I have such an amazing roomate makes this day a little bit better.
As we were getting everything ready I get to know her much better from the last time I meet her at the movies. She's funny and it's really fun to be around. When she is exited about something she starts to talk really fast and she's honestly perfection. I'm glad that Cameron and her are dating. They are perfect for each other.
As Emily is arranging her bed she is telling me something funny that happened to her and Cameron.
"Outside was pouring rain! It was just incredible. And you know how crazy Cameron and I are, right?" I smile like an idiot and nod. "So I was like 'Cameron, I have a challenge for you.' He literally jumped from the couch like a puppy and came in front of me and asked me what was it. So I said 'You have to run into the pouring rain all the way to the 86th street.' It was like two or three streets away and he looked at me, smirked and the said 'Easy!' And started walking over to the door and I screamed at the top of my lungs in a surprise voice, 'NAKED!'" I start laughing at their craziness and listen what happened next.
"You should have seen his face! It was speechless! I knew he wouldn't do it; I just wanted to see his facial expression. And right at that moment he started taking off his clothes. I started telling him that he is crazy and I was just joking, but he didn't care so I covered my eyes as he walked through the door butt naked." My stomach is hurting from so much laughter.
"Affter three or five minutes he came back all wet as if he just took a shower and I started laughing at him and he said 'I did the challenge.' And he put on his boxers and then took my hand dragging me towards the door. I started screaming 'What are you doing?!' And then he took me into the rain and my clothes were getting all wet and I looked at him like he was crazy. Then he said 'Just trying to be romantic.' And then he kissed me."
I am in tears by the end of her story. Those two are hilarious. I couldn't help but say, "Awww" as she finished her story. They were honestly so cute!
After a few minutes of calming down and getting ourselves together she asks. "So how are you and Shawn?"
I am working on arranging my clothes in the drawer and she is putting her posters up.
"Um, fine." I lie.
"Really? Cause I don't think so."
"How do you know?" I ask surprised.
"Cameron told me everything." She answers and I just sigh. That little...
"It's complicated."
"That's what they all say."
"True." I sigh again.
"Does this look straight?" She asks and I look at the big board where you can stick little things on it. I nodded my head.
"I don't know about Shawn and I. Lately we've been getting into a lot of fights and I don't know what to do anymore, or even what to say." I say getting on my bed, which was the one with the window above it. "Today when he left he didn't even say anything or do anything. And its driving me crazy."
"I understand, maybe you guys need a little break. Maybe he needs a little break."
"A break from me?"
"No, you see. It's not just about you. It's everything else too. Staring college, more responsibility, not seeing you often. It's hard for him too. He might be in a lot of stress. Maybe a little time alone, apart from each other will do good." I thing about it and she is right. Maybe that's all we needed.
After we finish cleaning everything up and getting everything arranged I look at the clock and it's almost five o'clock.
"It's almost time for lunch, you wanna come?" She asks.
"Sure." I say and my stomach agrees with me. We walk out of the room locking it behind us. We walk down the hallway and downstairs. I was heading towards the exit door but Emily pulls me by my arm in another direction.
"When you go to lunch or when you go to your classes which are both in the other building. You don't go outside. You go through here." She opens another door that is a little bit farther from the exit one. "The tunnel." She smiles excitedly. It's like a big glass tunnel that you had to walk through and it would get you from one building to another without stepping into the rainy weather outside.
Walking through the big student center where the many stairs we have to walk by to get to the other end of and enter cafeteria. Everybody is there.
"Cameron and I usually sit there." She points to a corner where two tables are pushed together. "I guess this year we're gonna have more people to our table." We walk there and Cameron gets up and comes running towards me. He bumps into me giving me a big hug.
"Rose! What a surprise! I missed you!" He mumbles and the lets go walking towards his girlfriend.
I look towards the table only to see Jack and Jack, Sammy, Taylor, Aaron, Mahogany and other guys and girls that I didn't know.
I wave towards everybody. "Hey guys!" Each one of them say their own hello's and I smile sheepishly.
"I missed you guys!"
"Missed you too curly hair." Taylor winks at me.
"We didn't know you would start attending this college." Sammy starts saying. "Shawn never said anything about you coming here." I smile and then once I hear Shawn's name my heart just starts beating faster.
And then it hit me. As I look around the many faces, I can not see that one face I am looking for.
"Where is Shawn?" I ask.
"He said he is not hungry." Jack Gilinsky says and I just smile, yet again faking one.
I guess this is going to be harder than I thought it would be.
