Rather than turning the page, it's much easier to just throw the book away.-Anthony Liccione

Taking in a deep, long breath I smooth her hair once again and look into her light blue eyes. They remind me of my mother's eyes. The ones in which I always find peace and comfort. Nostalgia takes over me and I quickly wrap my arms around my sister once more taking in the sweet scent of hers.

"Are you sure you are going to be okay by yourself?"

"Rose. I'm not going to be by myself and trust me I'm going to be fine." Emma squeezes my hand. I nod and kiss her cheek.

"I love you." I whispers.

"Oh come on guys you are taking this way too serious." Shawn walks passed us carrying a big box in his hands.

"Thanks for ruining the moment." I say sarcastically.

"No problem. And hey, we gotta get going Rose." He mumbles as half of his body inside the back of his car arranging all the bags and boxes. I stand up from my knees and look over at Shawn's mother who is leaning over the door frame at the entrance of the house.

"Please take care of her." I walk over to her and hug her tight.

"She's in a safe place. And I bet she'll love the new school that she will start attending." She says smiling. "And don't forget that she has Aalyiah here by her side too." I turn my body in the direction where the two girls are giggling and smile.

"Those two can be sisters." I bite my lip as my stomach tightens up at the thought of leaving my sister.

After a few seconds Shawn comes and kisses him mother's cheek and says his goodbyes. He walks over to the car and I follow him slowly while taking in the sight of my little sister.

"I love you." She waves. "I'll see you soon." And I get in the car closing the door behind me.

"I love you too." I whisper and Shawn begins driving away. Slowly the little figures standing in the front of the house begin getting smaller and smaller and smaller... till they are nowhere in sight. I am going to miss them so much.

I feel a warm hand being placed on one of my thighs; gently squeezing it. I look over at Shawn and press my lips together.

"It's going to be okay." He says with his eyes on the road and occasionally taking small glances at me just to make sure. I put my hand over his that is still placed on my thigh and squeeze it back.

"I already miss her."

"I know, but trust me everything is going to be fine." Shawn says intertwining our hands together. I press my lips together trying to form a smile but terribly failing at it.

"Are you exited?" He asks after a few seconds of silence.

"More like nervous." I put my head in the palm of my hand as my arm is resting on the car's window.

"Hey, don't be. It's just college. Everything will work out just fine. And remember; I'll be there for you. I promise." He says making it seem so easy.

"Oh no, I'm not worried!" I say laughing sarcastically. "Just need to get over the fact that I've been missing most of my high school years and everything will be fine. Yep! I'll get used to it." I say and once again please mark the sarcasm in my voice.

"Rose, I know-" I shake my head while rolling my eyes and cut him off.

"No Shawn, you don't. It's easy for you to say this. You've been in school. You've been interacting with people all these years. I'm not saying that I'm anti-social or anything like that. But you're used to all these 'school' things. When on the other hand I don't even have my high school diploma. How is it even possible that I get into college without it!" I finish my talk and look at Shawn who is just looking ahead on the road with both of this hands gripping the steering wheel.
