In The Shadows

Chapter-2: My Home

Zoey woke up with Ghost licking her face in the morning.

"I'm up, I'm up", she told him sleepily and gently patting him on the head.

She got up and decided to take a bubble bath to ease her aching muscles

Halfway through her relaxing bath, her phone rang
Nora Lee

"Morning"

"The sun is up and so are you!", she chirped into the phone.

"What's up?"

"Mom told me to invite you over for brunch yesterday but it totally slipped my mind! So I'll send the driver to pick you up at 10. Bye!"

"Nor- Hello?", Zoe looked at her phone screen and sighed sinking into the tub.

Her doorbell rang and she went to see who it was.

"Bambam" She opened the door to let him in.

"Morning sunshine!", he said coming in with coffee cups in his hand.

Ghost ran towards him and tried crawling on his legs,
"Hi Ghost. Such a cute baby", he picked him up setting the coffee on the breakfast table and kissed him. Ghost licked his face.

"Why are you here?", Zoe asked sitting next to him and drinking the Latte he got her.

"I thought you might need someone to look after this place so I asked mom to find you one."

"What would I do without you and her?"

"Nothing actually", he said and she hit his shoulder playfully.

"So I've fixed an interview with her at 5 pm, that cool?"

"Very cool"

"Where are you going all dressed up?"

"Apparently I am supposed to Brunch with the Kangs."

"You too?." he gave her the brightest smile
"C'mon let's go! Everyone's excited to see you", Bam said.

"But Nora said she's sending the driver?"

"Text her not to send anyone", Bam shrugged.

"Okay", she shrugged and they both went ahead, "see you later buddy!", she patted his head.

Bam and Zoey reached the mansion on the outskirts of the city.

"This is huge!", she said as they went inside.

"I know, its crazy", Bam and Zoe walked inside.

"Zoey!", Nora's mother was so happy to see her she gave her a bear hug.

"Aunty Anna! Its so good to see you!"

"C'mon let's go meet everyone. They're all so excited to see you!", she wrapped her arm around her shoulder and took her outside to see the rest of the family waiting for her in the backyard.
